Hi, I was bit by many ticks over the past 10 years. Most bites were about 6 years ago. I did get the circle rash for one bite. I took antibiotics for a few days after each bite.
I started getting insomnia ( waking too early about 5 years ago)
I took cats claw and it really helped my sleep. But it gave me a huge headache. But I slept great. I skipped a day then tried it again yesterday and slept the best I have in a long while. I did get joint pain. In my left wrist right away then it moved to my shoulder.
Catsclaw question. Since it helps with my sleep could I have lymes? I was tested a few years back. Came back negative.
Usually my joint pain can be reduced by an equal ratio of omegas. Eating too many cashews can really flame my joints. Not relegated to cats claw.

I believe any and everything is possible with lyme disease.

What lab did you use to test for lyme disease?

Not sure but it was the basic test.
Do others find that cats claw helps with sleep. Or is it the opposite.
Could it be a cortisol issue. Sometimes nootropics make me sleepy.

Hoping someone with longtime experience here can tell me if there are folks who get sleepy with cats claw?
I’ve read different things.
With lymes it gives you insomnia and read that cats claw can help with sleep. Curious what others have read about cats claw and lymes and sleep. Do most people get tired or get energized with cats claw.
It makes my dreams very vivid and I think adds to my rem stages.
I’ll try again tonight.

Welcome, Teacherman!

The bullseye rash is diagnostic for lyme disease...you have that...testing isn't necessary..you need to treat.
Did you take a photo of it?

A few days of abx isn't enough unfortunately.

Unless the test was done at a lab that specializes in tick-borne disease testing...then it wouldn't be reliable.

Igenex is a good lab...it costs $210 to do WB IgM and IgG for lyme.

This will bump the post up for more views.

Yes, I have a picture of it somewhere. It’s a big bulls eye. In the shoulder.

I can't say for sure what helped me sleep. By the time I was sleeping super well, I as taking so many things. I can't say for sure if it was one herb or all of them combined.

I have severe sleep issues and have tried many sleep aids to no avail. Before I was diagnosed I went to a ND who out me on various herbs and supplements one of them being cat's claw. I was starting each supplement a week apart in order to isolate any negative side affects. When I got to cars claw I started feeling pretty crummy so I stopped after a few days and tired again a week or so later and had the same result. According to the doc that was a client at I may have Lyme.

I had just used cat's claw the last couple days for flu. I used to use it for arthritis in the past and just stopped for some reason, so I had it on hand.
What I found is that besides feeling better than others that also got the flu in just the 3rd day into illness, I am sleeping through the night, which hasn't happened in years. So it is either the cats claw or the sickness, but I feel better. I will keep taking to find out.

Interesting, I have been on Cats claw 2-3 times per day for a couple months now but I have not noticed any effect on my sleep.

Same here. Cat's claw is a great medicinal herb but it doesn't give me neither a herx nor does it help against the insomnia. I will continue taking it though. Not sure what it's doing but it must be doing something.
