My naturopath has started me on a rectal chelation protocol. He didn't tell me what to expect. He just told me to do a coffee enema, then do the chelation suppository every other day for three months. Day one is in the books, and I feel pretty bad. Has anyone ever tried it? Or a chelation protocol of any kind?

I'm also starting a parasite protocol this week to coincide with the moon. The thought behind it is that as we kill the parasites, and they release metals, then we have the chelation to help bind the metals.

But I'm pretty lost. He didn't tell me anything other than the instructions. What do I do to help the detox symptoms? I'm going to try to add cholestyramine back in as a binder, but it has sucrose in it and may feed the parasites. Things have to be so complicated.

Thanks for any info you can give me. smile

He didn't really tell me that either. I have tested positive for a few heavy metals, but I can't remember what the breakdown was.

if you are mercury arsenic or lead toxic, use DMSA. it works, it replaced EDTA about 30 years ago for merc ars and lead because EDTA is a TERRIBLE chelator for any of them

if your naturopath does not know this, he/she is not very smart.

I’m sure he knows it. He’s a smart guy. I’m not sure what metals it’s bomding to, but it’s doing something based on my symptoms. Haha.

I had purchased EDTA but Lapis and others scared me away from using it.

Not effective against mercury and migrates metals but doesnt bind if I remember correctly. Caused a lot of pain for some.

I have Lyme also, first ever on a forum but wanted to start paying back for all the help I have received by ready this board over the years.

It is a bit of a long explanation but am trying to keep it short as possible but provide enough info so that you can move forward and understand what is happening.

I have done approx. 50 treatments of edta IV starting around Oct. 2016. It is extremely tough in the beginning. It has helped me tremendously I am function much better and it have significantly reduced my EMF problems. I tried DMSA orally multiple times during this time but have not noticed really any improvements compared to EDTA. I realize that EDTA starts with lead then removes other metals after whereas DMSA has an affinity for both metals at the same time. I have met multiple people who have done EDTA for other issue none have them had a bad experience. Where I go for IV they are now testing it on stubborn lyme patients like me, no bad experiences yet for them.

What I have noticed when I am 'Metaling' (High in Metals), my resting heart rate can increase up into the 80s whereas resting it is mid 60s. I will have more stabbing heart pain (left side), then my eye sight close up will get blurry until I am unable to read, breathing will become more difficult, feel nauseous all the time and my EMF problems will increase. The next day after treatment the above symptoms almost always go back down I can read, etc. THEN, I will instantly get sick with very bad Herxing. Over the years I have identified my herxing as getting worse with increased ringing in the ears, teeth pain, joint pain, tendon pain, etc. I also identify the level of herxing by the amount of ammonia that comes out of me when I sauna daily. It smells really bad at at times I have to open up the door of the sauna as fumes hurt my eyes, my wife states I stink up the whole house.

So what I am trying to say is if you get sick by doing edta or another good chelator (not cholera or cilantro)in my opinion your immune system may have been stalled and was not working, by removing metals it gets going again and may then cause a bad herx. This brings out more metals that were being held by the bacteria which will bring you back to metaling. This process lasted many months for me. I had to stop multiple times to recover before proceeding again.

I typically do IV vit C Tuesdays, EDTA Thursdays and Glutithione Fridays. I have been unable to identify when I am 'Molding' except during and after a Glutithione IV. I start getting a heavy chest and start coughing when 'Molding'. Getting a multitrace right after removes those symptoms but then I know it was mold at that time.

If you are into doing IVs whatever you do, do not get an EDTA chelation then IV C then next day especially in the first months as you will get the herx of a life time.

Before starting chelation and having lyme I think you should discuss with you caregiver about detoxing, you will need it.

I wrote this to hopefully help you and others identify their symptoms so that they know what they are dealing with at that time.

Good Luck

Hi Bill101 - welcome!

Sorry, I didn't realize there was a new member posting on this thread...until now!

Are you currently treating lyme as well?

How did you know that you needed to do the edta IV? What were your first EMF symptoms?

Bill01, I have been back to doing the rectal chelation for about two weeks now. I can feel a difference. I’m looking for continued progress. My doc wants me to do it for 3 months. So far doing it rectally has worked well. Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m so glad it helped you so much.
