Best is definitely subjective! There are pros and cons to hard vs soft chamber, pressures, duractions etc, in addition to varied opinions on this too. To be quite honest, we do know about
HBOT, but there is very little good data/information about
HBOT in regards to lyme/etc disease.
Other threads/boards can be negative about
hard chamber helping/healing (as compared to soft chamber), but I don't agree with them at all from our experience. It was an amazing improvement with one of my kids, and it was definitely a series of hard chamber HBOT for him. So, please keep this in mind that there just isn't enough good, solid data about
this for lyme/etc disease. Plus, keep in mind that we are all very different in regards to our issues (lyme, bartonella/babesia/coinfections, viral loads, immune dysfunction, methylation issues, genetics, gut issues, yeast, etc). There are so many variables.
I highly recommend a book called Oxygen Revolution. It does a very good job explaining HBOT and the numerous people it has helped. Unfortunately, it covers very little for people like us. However, the before/after SPECT pictures are truly inspirational. Also, I posted recently about
a little girl who made a remarkable recovery from severe brain damage using HBOT.
You will find varied responses to HBOT. Unfortunately, it's a very expensive treatment that is often unattainable or inaccessible to many sick people. I think it's very promising and has a lot of potential, but with nearly every treatment for this disease, it is very much trial and error.
You will read a lot of anecdotal and personal responses to HBOT. I certainly don't claim to know it all, but we definitely have a unique experience where four of us have done both hard and soft HBOT over the past few years. I can't say I have ever met anybody like us who has done both hard/soft HBOT for four members in the family! I can say that this brings a unique perspective to the table, especially since we had such varied reactions to it (and quite frankly, I am very honest about
If you would like details of our experience, I have multiple posts about
it on this board. I'm happy to find them for you, and/or answer questions.
For all of us, it was truly an amazing benefit for Kid#1. It was like a last resort for us, because I had tried so many things over the years and we were so stuck on resolving some very persistent and serious symptoms. The difference it made was instrumental in his recovery. (FWIW - he has been well for several months now.)
Having said that, it was not the same effect at all for Kid#2 (and I have my suspicions on why). Again, varied responses...
Best of luck to you!
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.
