Does negative Igenex Westen Blot mean I don't have Lyme if I have the symptoms for at least 8 years? Is that pretty much a verdict? Should I quit doing other tests? If so, which ones?

It was first test done by a tick-borne specialized lab, other ones were done by regular labs.

Honestly, it's bad news for me since I was hoping to find reasons for my unbearable misery.

Pianist - the testing can't be relied on - there are a lot of false negatives.

No, it doesn't mean you don't have lyme.

You need to see a Lyme Literate Dr.

Or...you can just start treating herbally on your own...and see what happens.

No, it doesn't mean you don't have Lyme. I had symptoms for 7.5 years before learning I had Lyme. My Igenex was also negative. I then had a DNA Connexions PCR analysis that was positive for Lyme and Ehrlichia.

Did you have any positive or indeterminate bands on the Igenex test?

Igenex:
IgM: band 41 Intermediate
IgG: band 41 Intermediate

Other tests by Lenco Diagnostic Lab (this is a regular lab, they don't specialize in Lyme):

Epstein-Barr virus: 8 (reference <0.8)
EBV ECA IGM ABS: <0.2 (reference <0.8)
EBV Nuclear IGG ABS: >8.0 (reference <0.8)
Lyme Disease AB: 0.05 (reference <0.90)
Mycoplasma IGM ABS: 0.19 (reference <0.90)

Toxoplasma Toxo IgG: 3.6 (reference 0.0 - 7.5)

Toxoplasma IgM /W RFLX CONFIRMATION
Toxo IgM: 0.2 (reference 0.0 - 8.0)

Lyme IgM ABS: 0.19 (=/< 0.90 - No detectable B Brurgorferi IgM Antobodies, Result does not exclude infection. An additional sample should be tested within 4-6 weeks if early infection is suspected).

So, out of those above I'm positive only for Epstein-Barr virus and EBV Nuclear IGG ABS.

You can't trust the tests to rule out these infections. You should also consider the fact that ticks can transmit several pathogenic bugs. If you have ruled out most other conditions, I would still consider infections: Lyme and, or Bartonella, and or Babesia, and or Ehrlichia, etc.

Well, I just made an appointment to a LLMD and will have to get even deeper into debt for that... Even if my insurance pays $150 out of the $660, I will pay him my weekly salary for 1 hour of his time....

He better make it worth it, although I've been scammed by so many "doctors" for the past 8 years...

How much are DNA Connexions tests? Which tests do you recommend? Does insurance cover any of them as out of network?

I’m not sure testing is a good use of funds if you are struggling to pay LLMD. You should maybe use your money towards treatment. Take the tests you have done so far to the LLMD appt. When is your appointment?

In 9 days. I must do it before the end of the year to get 1/4 of cost of visit covered by insurance. So how much is the DNA Connexions test?

Wow! Not reimbursed for out-of-network like Igenex is??

Not sure if I should see the LLMD who is said to be very knowledgeable as to which test to order or just do the DND Connexions as my final test and never see a LLMD?

If you don't see a LLMD - then will you be self treating?

Yes, I have a Rife machine that people had success with, for Lyme. And I can try herbs. But I want to diagnose it first, before I weaken Lyme with treatments so that it will be even harder to diagnose and remain in the dark on whether I had it in first place or not. Because I have other diseases: Hypothyroidism, low Testosterone etc....

Is DNA connextions not reimbursed for out-of-network like Igenex is?

Sorry, Pianist - I don't know about insurance coverage - I'm in Canada so not 'up' on the U.S. Insurance information.

You should call your insurance company and ask them.

Like you, my Igenex was reimbursed, but I did not have to do the DNA Connexions.

A lot of times the labs know if they will get paid by the insurance companies. You might even call DNA or email them.
