Dear fellow Lyme forum members:

For those of you who saw the brief conversation the mods here had with site administration before it was deleted, you're aware that we have been requesting for updated Moderator status for those of us who long ago were asked by Traveler and Girlie to moderate (it's been over two years for me). These requests have gone ignored.

These issues have devolved into a lot of unnecessary, time-consuming drama that prevent me from spending what little time I have to post help and support for others. Please feel free to email me!

I'm moving on, regrettably. I will miss you all. smile

I personally will be sorry to see you go.
You have the best advice I have seen on the forum, it is comprehensive, relavent, and genuinely helpful.
You obviously take a lot of time and consideration with your answers and you want to contribute.
Is there anything we can do to support you in getting the Administrators to reverse their decision.
This is wrong.

Pirouette,

Although I recently joined this forum, I can tell you that you have helped me in more ways than you know. As ArtAngel stated, is there anything we can do to let the powers that be know how valued you are ? I have no idea what "updated moderator status" means but it sounds as though it could be worked through perhaps? I am sorry to hear of your experiences as of late and do hope site administration step up to the plate and do the right thing. Peace.

While I really really don't want you to go - I do understand your reason(s) but that doesn't make it any easier for me to say goodbye, my friend.

Pirouette- remember some times we change our minds. You can still be here on occasion and help when "that post arises" without being a mod. One can "let go" without leaving forever (you would/will be missed by many).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whats all this about? Behind the scenes:

After my limited "dabble" in that deleted "mod" wars post a few days ago, it changed my whole view point of the behind the scenes "going-ons" here at HW.

Unneeded drama and ego filled actions from higher ups of other areas of HW is a pure waste of time. These weren't members of this lyme forum, but mods from other boards here being nosy/bossy 'cause they're on an ego trip with nothing else to do. From what I've been told, this has been the norm. Not unlike what goes on in a dysfunctional company. Unfortunately "paid boss" or "volunteer boss", "leader" "mod" ect -titles can both equally attract the control freaks among us.

I stated my view in that post (backing Pirouette) since I have the cajunes to say it. And they (the "intruders", people others here dont really know) did not like it very much to say the least (thus it was deleted that afternoon a few days ago).

I've never really been part of the welcome wagon here LOL. But I'm not permanently going away soon unless I'm banned by administration for saying the truth. I received a lot of help here when I needed it, and its still prob the most used lyme board around, its laid out well too. I still learn from this place too, and like the more in depth posts. But....as far as being an "official" mod here in the future..... not so sure anymore and doubt they'd want me to after speaking my mind online (+ saw the ugly side)..

The mods here on THIS lyme forum, past and present, have all been very helpful people.

That said, there are many questions from newbies that go unanswered here. A simple bump up helps to know they aren't being ignored. Anyone can do this. Our one "official" mod , "Girlie", can not be expected to be looking here all the time.

**I wonder when they find this post and delete this one to (?). "They", would rather you not read this.**

Sayin it like it is...............

Oh no Pirouette,
You have been so helpful to me with your hard won knowledge and wisdom. I'm so sorry to see you go. I only glanced at the moderator thread the other day so I don't know the details more than what is written in this thread so far.
Thanks for all you've contributed, I will miss you.
Be well and happy.

This Lyme forum has been run so well thanks to the generous contributions of our moderators. I have no idea what runs behind the scenes but losing you is a catastrophe for all of us. Your posts came from the heart. I will be eternally grateful for your help and wisdom. Much love and health, p. Xoxo

Signing back on for a quick reply -

Thank you all so much for such warmth and generosity. You are all gems and helped make the hours spent on this forum and learning about Lyme & Co worth the battle. ;)

I will definitely check in when I can.

And I can't believe I forgot to wish you all the best and to send good energy your way. May the force be with you - never give up, you WILL beat this!

Hugs -

I'm barely here, but I feel like I've noticed a couple of the older faces' faded presence on the forum. Traveler, of course, but she's not the only one.

The energy is not as bright. But, maybe it's just me?

Anyway, I won't darken the mood any further.

Smile. Stay strong. Live hard, huh?

Thanks, P... you've been a wealth of knowledge.

Dear Pirouette,

While I didn't see the (now deleted) thread to which you referred, I'm sorry for the unnecessary drama that's causing you to leave. I don't need to know what happened, in order to support your decision. Your character and judgement are unwavering, in my eyes.

As of this writing, in the 1,351 days since your profile was created, you've made exactly 6,200 posts. That's a staggering amount. And, for anyone that's read any of your posts, most of them are not just a few lines! Indeed, your posts are thoughtful, well-written, and exceptionally detailed.

I gratefully and sincerely thank you for all the amazing assistance and support that you've offered me and countless others. The fact that you would volunteer so much of your personal time to help so many strangers is a testament to what a great person you are. Conversely, this event is a poor reflection on those who have hastened your departure.

Fortunately, as long as this forum may exist, your voice will always remain alive in the thousands and thousands of posts. Each person who arrives here and reads the "New to Lyme" thread will benefit from your generous spirit. Your gifts to this community will keep on giving.

I wish you much health, happiness, and prosperity in all your endeavors.

Sincerely,
The Dude

P. I'm so sorry to hear this. You need to do what is best for you, and I wish the circumstances that have led you to this decision were different. I have learned a lot from you and appreciate you insight and support more than you know.

We will miss you.

P, I am really sorry to hear this. You are an extremely vital asset to this board, and quite frankly, it won't be the same without you. I will miss your wisdom, research, and compassion.

I just want to say THANK YOU for all that you have done for this board and for many, many people. You are beyond appreciated.

I'm always sorry to see anyone leave, and you have contributed an abundance of support. I was once a moderator at a forum (completely unrelated) and left for similar reasons. Sometimes, it is just time to move on, but sometimes you get pushed out early. And then when I was asked to moderate on another forum (also unrelated), I declined because there is enough drama in just posting. So many personalities and manners. So perhaps you can find a way to participate that works for you is what I'm trying to say!

Just out of curiosity, does being a Mod change things? I assume you get the ability to edit and delete posts or whatnot? Or is there something else Mods can do that I'm missing.

Never really seen the attraction to being a Mod.
