Very possibly a herx not only from candida/fungal, but borrelia too. There was a Doctor in Europe that would treat lyme patients with just Diflucan, he'd have a lot of success with the protocol helping patients reach remission. I think he'd cycle with another antibiotic after 2 or 3 months of Diflucan, but Diflucan can kill or stop borrelia from replicating all on its own./www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15337633
I suspect the borrelia strain and coinfecitons in Europe are a lot different than the states, but that's not saying someone might not get better on just Diflucan. Any treatment like Diflucan or Dapsone that can work without harming the flora in your intestines is great. But then again, both Diflucan and Dapsone can become toxic if you're not detoxing right with milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid and baking soda. Watching liver enzymes are a must if you're taking Diflucan long periods of time.
I tried just using Diflucan years ago in middle of my treatment, didn't work for me, but everybody's body is different, so is the strain of borrelia and coinfections.
You probably did feel a herx!
