Hey Guys,

I have been treating Lyme since march. I have had symptoms for about 18 months now. I had a DNA Connexions test done a month prior to beginning treatment around February and tested positive for Borrelia and Bartonella. Last month my LLMD recommended that we run an IGENEX test to see if we have any missing co infections and I am slightly confused on the Babesia Results. When I went over this with my doctor we only had partial results as the IgG's were still pending and now he is out of town for 3 weeks. My results are as follows:

B. microti IFA - IgM - <20 (<20 : Negative)
B. microti IFA - IgG - <40 (<40 : Negative)

B. duncani IFA - IgM - 40 (>=40 Indicates active infection)*
B. duncani IFA - IgG - <40 (<40 : Negative)

Babesia FISH - Negative

I do not have any babesia symptoms but just want to play it safe anyways. Is it likely that I have Babesia given I have a positive IgM and a negative IgG? Should I consider retesting? Kind of freaking out if I have another infection to worry about. Please let me know!!

Thanks!

Well, it certainly looks like you have it - with the test result.

We can have an asymptomatic babesia infection...or one with only a few symptoms showing. There is overlap with the other infections.

What symptoms do you have?

Any air hunger, palps, sweats, chills, petechia rash, dysautonmia, GI issues, anxiety, insomnia, eye pain or pressure, blurred vision, light/sound sensitivity, tinnitus ?

Are these the symptoms of a co-infection ?
