Some of you might remember me, I was very active a couple of months ago.

As many of you advised me, I chose to go to an LLMD in D.C

She suspected lyme, babesia, bartonella and strep.

So far it turns out that I have Lyme and a VERY bad strep and she is highly suspicious that I might have babesia as well.

I remember getting bit in the summer of 2014, and received two injuries shortly after that doctors couldn't find the reason for, through many scan, (Ultrasound, MR, X-Rays). Unfortunately I didn't add 2 and 2 together and my doctor was completely hopeless and told me to put some lotion on the places and wished me good luck(Yezz).

Otherwise that has pretty much been my only symptom up until my travel to the States in Maine.

I remember one weekend I caught a bug by a child and was bedridden the entire time.
After that I got rashes, muscle twitches and the family I lived with told me all about Lyme, so I immediately added 2 and 2 together.

Turns out I did the right thing!

My Lyme is fortunately "only" late stage, according to my LLMD, since it's on and off. When I'm feeling well on antibiotics and herbs I feel 100% normal. And that is most of the time.

I'm not symptoms free though, I get random jerks that only lasts for 2 min MANY rashes in my face(strep).

HOWEVER: My strep according to my LLMD is my absolute major concern. The Lyme and possibly Babesia will clear within months because I caught it before it turned chronic.

My visit today she saw that my tonsils has shrunk(classic strep symptoms) and my inflammatory arthritis is much better as well.

I do show signs of yeast/candida due to the antibiotics and we're making a transition from antibiotics to herbs one day at a time.

?!Has anyone else had such a big problem with Strep?!

I've read How Can I Get Better from Dr. Richard Horowitz and my LLMD is just as good, she says she has healed herself(and daughter, son and husband) and 25.000 other people touched with Lyme / chronic disease. which is amazing to think about.

Anyways a quick follow up, have a great night y'all

Sounds like you've made good progress, Chris. Keep at it -youre doing well!
Your LLMD is very experienced.

"My Lyme is fortunately "only" late stage, according to my LLMD, since it's on and off"

What do you mean 'only' late stage?

"The Lyme and possibly Babesia will clear within months because I caught it before it turned chronic."

Did you not have lyme since your bit in 2014? If so, your lyme is chronic.

Based on the symptoms and how I was doing I believed she said that the Lyme weren't that big of a deal. And mentioned that she could get rid of it within months.

My major concern and many of my symptoms pointed at strep to be the bad guy.

I am a bit concerned about your comment; When is Lyme chronic? I thought you had to be in bad shape, bad symptoms. My immune system haven't been touched by it, all my levels are normal(white blood cells etc) other than the injury area.

Since it seemed to "start" in April this year and the way I am now wouldn't fit with the lyme being chronic...

I thought you had it since 2014?

Welcome back Chris.

Well, I guess the good news is that it isn't Staph.

So sorry and also so glad you have a great LLMD!

Okay, but the fact that she said that my tick-borne diseases wasn’t that big of a deal, is a really good sign still right?

Since it doesn’t seem to be persistent or cause any major symptoms.

Thank you PeteZa, I’m just happy to live a perfectly normal life, without any difficulties, my workout has never been better, I just went 6 miles on a bicycle in 15 min and did 1.5 hour workout afterwards with 15 min of sauna to finish it off, amazing feeling!

I decided to extend my stay here in the states so I’m going home in September. Is it too optimistic for my llmd to say that it’ll all be cleared by then?

She will now put me on Vitamins A/B’s/B6/B5/E/D continue on cefuroxine, finish Zithromax and start on biaxin / clarithromycin, oil of oregano, perilla pearls, b-active and a lot of other stuff I can write down if anyone is interested

I would say it could be that your immune system is doing a decent job of handling the lyme bacteria. Based on how you are feeling, it sounds like you have a handle on things. I think supporting with herbs is a great idea.

As for strep, we don't see much talk of it on here. How were you tested for it?

Through a IgE, ASO and Streptozyme Titer were all high.

My symptoms were/are swollen glands and tonsils, rheumatic arthritis and rash/spots in around face/neck area that come and go like crazy.

Strep is seen with the Pans/Pandas cases. (Generally Pediatrics?)

Chris I remeber you lol. If I remember right, you had similar symptoms to me.

I am often wondering about strep / PANDAS. I was hospitalized by strep about 5 years ago. Prior to that, I got strep throat twice a year every year since my kids started pre-school.

My LLMD tested for strep antibodies and mine were still super high. He didn't say anything about why he was testing for it, or comment on the results.

I am trying to learn more on the strep/ PANDAS/ lyme connection.

Missouri I remember you as well, you had a very similar history.

How is the strep on you now?

Is it your llmds main focus on strep or is he/she treating you for Lyme/co’s first??

I can’t even see where the lyme has a story for me, all my current symptoms are due to strep... maybe because I’m on the antibiotics...

Current symptoms are cold limbs(knees, feet, hands), rashes(my own body I guess because it’s attacking it’s own healthy tissues), and maybe one single twitch a day, which is crazy...

I’m now going all in with Vitamins, A, B, B5, B6, B12, D, D3(10000iu), E.
As well as perilla pearls, oregano oil, b-active, monopure and bio allay.

And in one month I will stop antibiotics and at that time going full dose on the herbs(I’m on buhners as well, a low dose though)

No, strep does not seem to be my LLMD's his main concern.

However, there was one question out of two hundred on the pre-visit checklist/questionairre. I think the question said- Have you ever had strep throat before?.

During my first appointment as we were going through the health history he breezed through it and quickly moved on to the next section.

I was surprised when I got back home to find that out that of several blood tests I was to do, 2 of them were to test for strep antibodies.

Also to my surprise 2 of them came back really high. Here I dug up my tests and here is what they were:

anti-streptolysin O 527 (normal range 200IU or less)
Dnase B antibody 347 (normal range 301iu or less)

His practitioner called me when the results came in and didn't mention it. He also sent paper copies with his notes on it and didn't write anything on that result.

My Lyme Western Blot came back with 2 bands IGM (39, 41) and 4 IGG (30, 41, 58, 66) so I guess he wanted to focus on lyme.

Could Strep light up the Lyme Western Blot? Is there a Strep - Lyme connection? Is Strep just another co-infetion that comes out when Lyme jacks up your immune system? Can adults get PANDAS? I wonder if the Strep episode that almost killed me left lasting damage?

I have not had a bonafide case of Strep for about 5 years. Although there were a few times I was feeling rundown and started getting that feeling like Strep was coming on, but it would pass. I would be getting that "Strep crash" feeling (woozy, behind your body, malaise, extreme fatige, pale skin, temparature dysregulation). Then I would have a moderate sore throat for a few days then it would pass. Could those episodes have been Strep? maybe

I have been treating Lyme with antibiotics for 5 months now. I took a break after month 4 to see where I was and how long I could go before symptoms come back. On my 8th day I woke to a moderate headache, mega twitching everywhere (especially the glutes), crappy run down feeling. To my regret, I decided to plow through it without taking meds. I went to play volleyball that night hoping it would make me feel better. Boy was I wrong. I started tocrash near the last game and could barely make it to the car. By the time I got home I was at 103 fever curled up on the bathroom floor in misery waiting to use the shower. Thrashed in bed all night with sweats fever and headache, oh yeah and sore throat.

I started Clindamycin and within 12 hours started to feel better. After a few days not too bad.

Was that strep? maybe Sinus infection? maybe? Lyme, Babs, Bart? no idea

It's all so confounding

The strep episode that almost did me in was about 6-7 years ago I think. oral anti-biotics were not working. My throat was closing shut and I was having trouble getting air to my lungs. They gave me a few antibiotic and steroid injections and I started to recover. I had a few more injections over the next week at my doctors office. It seemed to pass.

Sorry for my whole strep life story. hahaha hope you like a short novel.

I will ask my LLMD about it more on my upcoming appointment in about 3 weeks.

Hi again and sorry for the long response

I have been feeling really good lately, my energy is still really high but at this moment(22.54, 6th of Jan) I looked myself at the mirror and saw a lot of rashes. All very itchy and annoying. It was itching on my body as well, so I decided to take a look.

Oh boy I had huge rashes on my back and my neck.

Those are the only symptoms... No twitching, no pain, no low energy(my workout session was the best I have had in 3 years).

I did eat A LOT of red lenses pasta(to avoid gluten) and meat substitute(crumbs of some kind?!) and tomato marinara sauce(with 6g of sugar per cup). I ate 4 portions but the itching started shortly after... Are there any connection? Besides the red rashes I have also gotten a lot "dust-looking particles" in my face that my LLMD told indicated strep, big time...

It's terrible, I can eat and eat and eat but now I'm starting to think that the most part I'm really feeding are all harmful bacteria in my body... I weigh 160, and I'm 6.1 foot. I remember doing a challenge 4 years ago of trying to reach 190 pounds in 1.5 months for the Christmas of 2013. I weighed 170 and were able to gain 20 pounds in such a short period, but I can't do it now... I eat gluten-free, dairy-free, alcohol-free and very little to none sugar.

Has anyone experienced the same?

Hi Chris,

I don't have that myself, but I know a lady who is now in remission - and she has erythema nodosum.
She said it only flares when she eats food from the nightshade group.

I'm wondering if the tomato sauce could have triggered it for you.

Although that doesn't explain the dust looking particles and inability to gain weight.

Are you and your LLMD confident that you don't have active Lyme or a coinfection that still needs treatment?
What is the plan for treating the Strep? Maybe that's what is needed.

Good evening Girlie and thanks for responding

I have just done a lot of reading about the European strain, Borrelia Afzelii.

"B. afzelii causes a distinct skin infection known as ACA" - That comes from IGeneX's webside. I have had multiple skin rashes, some that looked like hives, others like mosquito bites and now these red itchy ones.

I definitely think that could have a connection.

Since my first visit at the LLMD I have taken my workout seriously, started to avoid gluten, alcohol, dairy and sugar and I have gained 6 pounds since October, I'm not sure if I can call it a proper weight gain.

At the moment I've started to take Biaxin 500mg(occurring to my llmd, mainly for my strep) and I have continued Cefuroxime Axetil 500mg.

I definitely think it's because of the food. Yesterday I ate almonds with Thai Spice on it and got 2 huge rashes on my face and now this today. There hasn't be anything the last 2 weeks, I have been eaten a lot of rice, chicken and a lot of vegetables.

I have dug further in the ACA matter and according to this website

https://kimmiecakeskickslyme.wordpress.com/2013/09/23/lyme-and-aca-the-herx-rash/

I do not have anywhere near these kinds of rashes. Mine are for the most part in the face and disappear as fast as they come.

And a further elaboration Girlie, I'm getting off the antibiotics fairly soon, and will take Perilla Pearls(and then Golden Pearls), Vitamin A, B, B5, B6, B12, B-active, D, D3(10000 iu), and E. Oregano Oil as well. According to llmd I am continuing Buhner(I am taking low doses though as should continue this way, due to all these new products).

But MAAAAN it's gonna be expensive, I earn $200 a week and I'm literally using all of those on llmd and medicine/supplements.

Another comment ;-)

My weight is currently at 166, so it looks like I have gained a bit...

Now 11 pounds since October, now that I’ll call a weight gain, hooray!

That should be another indicator that the treatment is going in the right direction?

A lot of comments, I’m sorry about that, but I think it’s due to the lack of responding the recent weeks...

Definitely - the weight gain is a positive indication.

I had lost about 14 lbs when I first got Lyme. The weight loss happened quickly - and I couldn't gain it back until several months after I started treatment.
