For the most part, it all depends on what works best for your body. I take several tinctures, but I also use several herbs as loose powders (and add them to pomegranate juice as Buhner suggests).
The tinctures I take are mainly for digestive help, as they work better for me as tinctures, then I use red root, kudzu root, turmeric, and a couple of mushroom powders.
Besides, using the powders is less expensive, even though I make my own tinctures.
