Hi all, so I haven’t been working for some time now, I was on maternity leave for 14 months and got bit towards the end of my mat leave so never went back.

I’ve secured. Job interview which is tomorrow morning, it’s a part time job, working 4 hours a day from 6.30 in the morning till 10.30am.

My worry is that whilst on my Christmas hold I got my test results diagnosing me with lyme bart babs and ehrlichia. I’m scared to go to work, I’m seeing my doc on Friday, not sure if he will put me on herbs or abx but I’m worried about the herxing. Am I just setting myself up to fail by taking a job and then starting abx?

I feel fine at the moment, very mild joint pain sometimes but I could work but I’m scared about the treatment I will be out on and the effect it’s going to have.

Should I go to interview and potentially get a job or just start my treatment and focus on health right now and look for work once I’m into my treatment?

Any thoughts would be very helpful

That's exciting!

I work part-time and I've been able to manage it. I worry about herxes but so far it's worked out OK. Even during my bad neuro herx, I was able to get a ride and get myself together for long enough to work a few hours, all except for one day I had to take off. And it helps my mood greatly to get out and work a little.

Is it a strenuous job? How old is your little one? Is this your first child? Getting out with a baby in the morning adds a whole 'nother dimension. If you don't have to take a baby out with you, that is easier.

Are you normally up early, or would this cut into your sleep? Can't catch up with a nap after work with small children.

I would definitely at least go to the interview.

That’s really reassuring thank you, I don’t normally get up that early, my little one is almost 20months old, my husband would take him to nursery for a few hours in the morning I would need to pick him up. He’s my first child, so leaving him in childcare is something else I’m dreading.

Maybe I could take my morning herbs once I finish as I would finish by 10.30.

Maybe I just go to the interview and see how I feel, might not even get it!

Thanks again, I needed to hear that working along with treatment is doable. smile it’s put a smile on my face.

Being at home has become a safety blanket for me, I do think however keeping my mind occupied even if it’s a few hours would do me good.

smile I'm glad. Good that your husband would get the little one out. I did really like alternative work schedules when my big kids were younger, because it left me with a lot of time to see them.

I'm a fan of going to the interview and seeing how you feel about it. You might find that it seems like a good place. Or you might leave there thinking "I would never work here in a million years," and then you won't look back and wonder if you should have gone. Lol.

Good luck! Hope it works out if it's something good for you, or that the decision becomes clear if it's not.
