Well.... I'm on the final countdown now. Just a couple of days before I leave my husband and kids to head to Germany for a few weeks for treatment. I have so many mixed emotions. My 11 year old is coming with for treatment, too. So is my mom. She's a nurse so it will be very good to have her there.

I'm trying my best to stay positive. And honestly.... this is the one place I've heard consistent success stories from. So I am very cautiously optimistic. But... not everyone respond to the treatment. And I'm anxious about the treatment itself. Whole body hyperthermia is not something to be taken lightly. And I have a lot of complicated health issues (predisposition to blood clots, history of c diff, blah, blah, blah). My main goal is to survive! Truly! And then when I return home, we both start weekly IVIG infusions while will hopefully help improve my overall immune function (which is barely functional at this moment).

So please keep me and my daughter in your thoughts and prayers. I need all the positivity I can get. I'll email you all updates.

I will definitely keep you in my prayers, Evanston. Praying you have a safe, comfortable trip, too. Try to enjoy the time away with your daughter and your mom like you would if you were going on a special vacation together. Maybe that will help keep your minds off your worries about what it's going to be like.

Best of luck! Wishing you the best on your trip and healing!
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.

This is exciting! I know you're nervous, but this has been such a success for many. Plus, you are with family there.

Please, keep us posted.

Are you going for 2 or 3 weeks?

As someone who is also considering this treatment, I anxiously await to hear how it works for you and your daughter. I hope this does the trick for you and Lyme soon becomes a distant memory. Best of luck.

Hoagie- we are going for just about three weeks. We leave tomorrow. Can’t believe that it’s really here and that I’m really doing it. I printed out all these inspirational quotes today and me and my daughter will be making a little “inspirational notebook” out of them while on the plane tomorrow. It will be good to have words of inspiration nearby and on hand when going into this sort of thing.

Best wishes to you both! I have been considering going to this same clinic at some point myself but it's the high cost that scares me. Don't know how anyone can afford it. Something like $30,00 person with the clinic and travel costs not to mention the cost of what ever you have to do after you get back. Sometimes it seems like it is a wealthy persons disease. I sooo can't afford the cost of some even trying of these treatments. What I am doing is really taking my finances and I have two kids to finish raising with one going off to college soon. They have to get loans as I can't eve help them now. I need to get them re tested as it seems I have had this thing since before they were born which scares me even more. . But still I think of trying to figure out how to come up with the funds to go to this clinic in Germany ..I want to be around for many years and don't want to keep wasting what little money I do have on treatments that don't seem to be doing much after 2 years. Please update us and let us know how you both respond when you are able. Take care and bless you both. You will be in the thoughts and prayesr of many of us.
