hello,

I'm french so excuse me for my bad english smilewinkgrin
Few months ago, I practised tests by Arminlabs (I present symptoms of lyme of course...)
My results : week positive (2Si) borrelia elispot and cd57+Nk cells (70) : the average is between 100 and 360. An year ago, I had a thyroid cancer.. is it an explanation for such low CD 57 ?
My doctor tested recntly co-infections. nothing but positive at epstein barr virus (it is noted "profil for a ancient infection). have I lyme or not ?
I'm a little lost ...
thanks for your help.
Mary.

Hello, mary, welcome!

I'm assuming you had the testing done because you had a tick bite and/or have symptoms that are consistent with lyme disease.

Testing alone should not be used for diagnosing lyme. It should always be a clinical diagnosis, with testing used as a back up.

And the elispot - 'weak' positive does back up a clinical diagnosis.

Did you have surgery for your thyroid cancer?

We encourage all new members to take a look through the information in the thread: "New to Lyme?..stasrt Here!" It's packed full of useful information.

Do you have a LLMD?

If not, you can email me and I may have some options for you. Just click on the envelope below my screen name (on the left).

yes, I have a lyme doctor who has established a diagnostic (my symptoms are consistent with lyme disease) but he don't say me clarely "you have lyme desease" you know what I mean ?
i started up a phytoteurapautic treatment 2 weeks ago and I have pains and dizziness increased...and neckless very straight.
personnaly, i find it's difficult to start a treatment if we are not completely sure of diagnosis.
yes, I had surgery for my thyroid and a life treatment...
What is LLMD ?

You're english is fine!

Well, to treat lyme disease, there are specific treatments for that.
So you do want to focus in on a lyme disease treatment.

You do have a positive test result for Borrelia.

LLMD is Lyme Literate Medical Doctor.
You should consider seeing one for an evaluation.

Today, symptoms very strong despite detox.
...I took this treatment for nearly 3 weeks. I hope an improvement in a short time...

Hi Mary,
Welcome to the community!

There may be a few things going on. First, did you start at full doses of those herbs? If so, it's created a serious herx that you do need to address by lowering your doses some, and increasing what you are doing for detoxing. There are so very many thing that can be done to help your body detox, and there are some great suggestions in the "New to Lyme" thread that Girlie mentioned, as well as in this link: www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.html

But, you will want to add in detoxing methods slowly, as you don't want to encourage more toxins than your body can safely remove to be mobilized at one time. Take a look at the lists and be sure to ask any questions you may have.

I have that 'cracking noise' in my ears at times, as well as full blown tinnitus with several "interesting" tones that can come with it. It's not that unusual.

Be sure to keep asking questions!

Armoise = artemesia, I just looked. Samento = cat's claw.
Mary, it sounds as if you are being treated then (herbally) for both Lyme and babesia. Have you had symptoms that might be specific to babesia such as drenching night sweats, shaking chills, fever?

People's reactions to herbs can be very different, but in general, they often take time to work when they do work well for people.

I had a thumping sensation on one side of my head as a symptom for a long time. It can be either tinnitis or something called pulsatile tinnitus, which may be caused by actual endothelial infection of those veins on the side of the head (causing a pulsing sensation).

hello,

my doctor recently tested me co-infections. no babesia, no others coinfections but epstein barr virus positive ( it is said "old infection"). it's curious because no remember of that. But when symptoms appeared, exhausted, diziness as drunk, very very straight neck...I even have regurgitated 3times.
strange ...before this, eruption of little spots (2 or 3 weeks ago), link or not ?

Mary - were they little red spots?

That could be the petechiae from Babesia.
Testing can not be relied on. You can test negative, but still have one or more of the coinfections.

Artemisia is a treatment for Babesia...but it's not usually 'enough'.

yes, that's it. Some little red spots on arms, neckline and (but I'm not sure...nearly 4 years ago) a little on the face. It scratched me...during 1 week.I thought it was just an allergy.
what can I take for babesia as plants ?
thanks a lot !

Babesia herbs: Cryptolepis, Sida Acuta, Bidens pilosa are three of Buhner's herbs you can try.

Start with only one at a time and at low dose.

And if your symptoms increase, please start detoxing, if you aren't already. If you have questions about detoxing, please just ask! It's nearly as important as treatments for nearly every person.
