I just finished treatment by a doctor claiming my Lyme + Co-infections are gone using ART "muscle testing" despite a symptoms that are worse than ever. A DNA Connexions test confirmed the bugs are still there. When I addressed this with my doctor, he became very frustrated that I had gone somewhere else to get this confirmation test done, and stuck to his guns that the bugs were no longer active. Thus it is time to find a new doc. I've been searching all over the web and have found plenty of LLMD's via the referral system with ILADs and plenty of other resources, however, it is really tough to get an accurate picture of how effective these MD's are and if they truly can treat these diseases the way they claim.

Does anyone know of treatment centers or doctors that not only address the Chronic Lyme and infections, but also other factors that can be contributing to symptoms such as neurotransmitter depletion, methylation, mitochondrial dysfunction etc etc. My issue is that I either find doctors/centers that do one or the other, when I'm really looking for a more holistic approach that encompasses all factors. I travel for a living as a consultant so location isn't much of a factor. I know you can just post names on this forum, so if you could direct message me instead that would be much appreciated. I'm at a bit of a crossroads here in this fight and I need some help.

I have used this search engine for a functional medicine doctor. www.functionalmedicinedoctors.com/index.php?action=search

I have used this search engine for a naturopath. www.alternativesforhealing.com/local-search-holistic-practitioners/

My best referrals came from the herb shops that I have gone to. The health food stores are great for recommendations of who is good in the area also.

So what does this Dr. say your symptoms are from then? (If not the infections)

You can send me an email...and give me a few locations you are interested in and I'll see what options I have listed.

I feel your pain. I did muscle testing (and FCT too, which very few on this board have apparently done) for years with us. And all it did was send us in circles with no real improvement at all. I know some people truly believe in it and has helped them. We are not those people.
But our situation was very similar to yours. Epic failure. And symptoms/labs contradict what the muscle test/FCT practitioners "say".
I am very confident that if I went to three different muscle testers in the same day, that I would hear three different results. (It would be an interesting investigative report.) I don't have much faith in it at all now.

I have been through numerous mainstream and alternative practitioners in my journey. By the far, the person to help us the most was a functional medicine MD doctor. He treats a lot of lyme, but he is so much more. Functional medicine looks at the root cause of issues and trying to address those. I truly am a believer in functional medicine.

Example: If I go to a mainstream doctor for depression, I'll just have anti-depressant medications thrown at me (and typically, they won't do much more than that). [I know there are exceptions. I have a fabulous GP who thinks very much in a functional manner and does way more than typical mainstream doctors do.]
But if I go to a functional medicine doctor, they will look at WHY my body is having depression (eg what system may be off and why). Is it a nutritional reason? Pathogen reason? Functional medicine will look at the root cause, trying to correct that, so the symptoms will resolve (instead of being on potentially lifelong medications). It doesn't mean they will never use medications to help with symptoms in the short term, but it does mean that they really focus on the body as a whole.

I also like our NP doctor too for one of our kids, but we rarely see him nowadays. He figured out some pieces of the puzzle too for one of the kids that we were stuck on.
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.

Issues with Mitochondria, methlylation and neurotransmitter depletion mostly. Every test seems to reveal something new. I didn't become symptomatic until I cut significant amounts of weight for boxing back in college a couple years back so it would make sense that messing with those items would have tanked my immune system, allowing the lyme to take over.

I've also been looking into the Hansa Center, seems like it has drastically improved a lot of people's symptoms.
