I'm meeting a cardiologist on Monday for a checkup.
In bed, when I lay on my left side my heart start to hurt and I get a really weird feeling that I MUST switch sides or something bad is going to happen. One time I ignored the feeling and I had heart palpitations the whole night. Lately I get the same feeling when laying on my back. My LLMD once explained it was something about a valve not working properly because of Lyme but I forgot most of the details.

I want to explain this properly to my cardiologist. Does anyone know the correct term for this Lyme symptom so I can read about it and be informed for my visit Monday. Or good links with explanation?

Thanks smile

Vimzor this sounds frightening.

I think you explained it really well in your post. All you can do is tell the doctor how it feels.

Good luck and I hope the checkup goes well and they don't find anything.

I had high blood pressure, palps, and flutters. My heart was fine. Lyme is so weird.

Just explain it the way you did in your post. The cardiologist will do the required tests.

Are you thinking of the Mitral valve?

I don't remember. It was something about a valve leaking?

Positional PVCs or PACs are pretty common, even in those without Lyme. When you bend over, breath deeply, lay on your left side, etc., that puts pressure on your chest wall which can stimulate your atrium causing some skipped beats. The vagus nerve is thought to play a role in it as well.
