Would appreciate any help after finding a lot of people here in a similar situation as I am.

Just received my Lyme test back from Quest and the doctor says nothing there. But I was reactive for 41 kD IgG Band.

Live in the Midwest and traveled to Oregon / Wash in October. Since then I've experienced incredibly swollen tonsils for eight or more weeks, fatigue that is getting worse, a heart rate that is bottoming out in the 55-60bpm compared to my average around 72, dizziness, and a loss of balance when I close my eyes or combined the dizziness.

The doc says nothing wrong. After a round of amoxicillin, for the tonsils, they've gone from the point that I could barely swallow to still being enlarged – but no puss.

I'm extremely worried about the dizziness and loss of balance throughout the day. And the fatigue sets in at times where I can barely get out of bed without really having a convo with myself.

I didn't have a typical bite or bullseye rash, but I got very sick on the trip to Oregon. 3-4 days of throat, head, neck, and then stomach issues. I had a red rash on one hand that was itchy, slight pain, spread and eventually went away.

All very non-specific symptoms, but with one reactive result in the Lyme test it seems I should try the other test and see if I can dial in. My primary care physician seems completely uninterested. Said to have some caffeine to boost my bpm and come back in a month if I still have issues.

Thanks,
Dennis

Welcome to our forum,

Keep listening to your instincts and meanwhile while your waiting for an llmd appointment:

You can begin detoxing, there are many options you will find in the new to Lyme thread.

Build your immune system, it is so important so that your own body can fight the infections.

Eat healthy, paleo or gluten free. Cut sugar and any alcohol out, they can make your symptoms worse.

Light exercise ok but don't overdo anything.

Get plenty of rest.

Lyme rarely travels alone so there are many co infections that are possible to have.

I wish you the best of healing, take care, Jo

Hey Dennis. Not sure how far you are willing to travel but I have a few Wisconsin options. Dr. G in Oshkosh. Dr.W in Wisconsin Dell's. Dr. K in Minong. Also Dr. M in Brookfield. Good luck. Let me know if you need any further help.

Wisco woman - I edited your post to change the Dr. names to initials only. This is for their privacy/protection.

I’d look into Serenity Health Care in Waukesha. Or Dr R in Lake Forest IL (not too far from WI) is supposed to be top notch. Or Whole Health Chicago is fantastic and they take insurance smile

I am new to this forum, and already so thankful to all its members for their generosity in sharing info/advice/experiences!

I'm looking for suggestions of LLMDs north of Chicago. Is there still somebody good in Lake Forest?

Thank you!
