So I have to give my daughter probiotics ok to open the capsules and put into something like water, yogurt or some other medium so she doesn't have to swallow the pills?

Also what amount would you give for a 9 year old girl that weighs about 65 pounds for probiotics and sacro broullardi? Thanks.

I would think 1/2 dose would be good.

130 lb woman would take full dose...

i think yogurt is a good idea.

There is a brand of probiotics you could buy - called Bio-K. They are in little yogurt cups...
I buy them from our local health food store.

Mine have 50 billion per.

(I think they may differ depending on which one you choose)

And Kefir? would she eat that?

The strawberry flavored Bio-K tastes good. (I've tried them)

I think even a bit of sugar - to get the probiotics down is better than her not taking any?

You could put it in some of her food...it may not have much of a taste.

Here's a liquid probiotic that some reviewers say has no taste:

It may be worth considering, if you need a different option and it's within your budget.

Also, I recently found the following product for children:

Magic Dirt Water
bit.ly/2mZ3Mw0
/www.amzn.com/B07845NMNL

I want to try it, just because of the name. What male child/adult wouldn't want to drink something called "Magic Dirt Water"?!?

about the Product

8-oz RESTORE Magic Dirt Water for kids is a colorful and fun version of the magic supplement their parents take before every meal. The fossil record indicates through carbon dating that the Aqueous Humic Substances of RESTORE’s Terrahydrite come from the rich soils of earth when dinosaurs roamed. Special pediatric directions provide an initial phase-in. Introducing Restorosaurus!

BALANCE GUT HEALTH & INCREASE STOMACH COMFORT - DIFFERENT THAN PROBIOTIC OR PREBIOTIC SUPPLEMENTS. RESTORE has been shown in lab studies to strengthen the tight junctions in the gut wall, creating a beneficial shift in the gut bacteria. As people look for relief from daily digestive issues - bloating, constipation, diarrhea, gas, and sensitivity to foods such as gluten and milk - many RESTORE advocates report feeling bloating and gas relief within 20 minutes. Many report constipation relief.

COMBAT ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES. Our modern world is filled with modern chemicals that can impact our gut health by reducing the healthy bacteria there, leaving many people reaching for probiotic supplements, including soil-based probiotics, liquid probiotics, gluten-free probiotics, and prebiotics. RESTORE dietary supplement works to strengthen and support the tight junctions in the gut lining, our frontline of defense against environmental factors in our food, water, and even air.

PROMOTE IMMUNE FUNCTION. By strengthening the gut membranes and creating a beneficial shift in the gut bacteria, RESTORE impacts the immune system, as much of the immune system is in the gut lining, and because undigested food cannot leak out into the bloodstream. DEVELOPED, TESTED, AND USED BY DOCTORS. Biomic Sciences, LLC has leveraged a team of scientists and PhD's with more than 50 years combined research and clinical experience, and is being used by hundreds of health practitioners.

ENHANCE MENTAL CLARITY WITH THE POWER OF PREHISTORIC HUMIC SUBSTANCES. Environmental factors that impact the gut - GMOs, gluten, herbicides, and antibiotics - can also impact the blood/brain barrier, another critical tight junction system in the body, which is why RESTORE users report enhanced mental clarity. RESTORE ingredients for gut health are comprised of purified water and a unique soil-based mineral supplement, Terrahydrite™ (Aqueous Humic Substances, mineral amino acid complexes).

Some of the above product descriptions do make it sound "magical," so that's a turn-off. But, who knows, maybe it actually works. They make a regular RESTORE product for adults, too.

Whole Foods has probiotic kefir in the refrigerator in their supplements section. There's a tasty one in a purple bottle - the name escapes me. I used it with my son when he seemed to be having constant constipation.

It tastes like fizzy kool-aid. I just poured some in a medicine cup and had him drink his "medicine" each morning.

He drank it. And it seemed to work.

My kids love the Garden of Life chewable at whole foods refrigerated section. Bonus is that it has some extra vit d & c.

Also, my kids like the chocolate Amazing Grass green superfood powder. It has some probiotics in it. I make them a smoothie with banana/strawberry, almond milk and sometimes a little ground flaxseed & nut butter.

Klaire Labs has a kid's chewable. I've used that one personally myself. (My kids all swallow pills.)

We used VSL#3 (powder) for quite awhile back in the day during those first few years. Yes, we'd mix in yogurt or applesauce.

Careful on using s. boulardii, as that can cause a yeast imbalance (despite erroneous claims that it can not). I've posted about that numerous times.
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.

I've spent at least the last eight hours going down various rabbit holes, for a variety of conditions. In doing so, I stumbled-upon another probiotic company and recalled this post.

The company has probiotics specific to men, women, children, and pets:

Good grief, I missed that one. I'm surprised they don't have probiotic toilet paper.
