I've been having hot flashes since early January. I started tindamax mid December, started ceftin in late December, and continued taking the doxy and mepron that I've been on for a year or so. Anyhow, I've been having hot flashes all day and night. I turn on a desk fan 5-10 time per day. I thought this may be hormonal. However, yesterday I missed my ceftin morning dose and realized when I got home i didn't have any hot flashes or ones that required a desk fan, so I skipped my evening dose last night. Well I resumed taking it this morning and within 30 minutes, I'm flashing. I don't know if this is a herx or a reaction. I don't feel ill. I will continue, but I was wondering if anyone else has hot flashes from ceftin. Also, I keep feeling this pressure around my sinuses. It's a pressure that builds up and then passes, but some pressure remains. I took sinus congestion medicine and that didn't help. My MRI showed mild sinus inflammation. This has been happening for a couple of weeks. No headaches. Thanks for reading.

It means goshawk recognized that nobody has replied to the post and replying with "bump" would push this topic to the top of the list.

mokeyho- wish I could help you with the hotflashes. I did have occaisional hot flashes primarily before starting treatment. Mostly sparked by anxiety. Not sure if they were symptoms of TBI's or not. I had a 30 day course of Ceftin and did not have any hot flashes during the course.

Thanks for the response, Missouri. It's so hard to tell is something is a herx or a whole new issue. I will continue taking it and see what happens.

And thanks for bumping, goshawk.

I wouldn't doubt it -- people can have all different reactions to medicines. This website lists fever and sweating as potential side effects. https://www.drugs.com/sfx/ceftin-side-effects.html.

Hi Mokeyho,

While taking Mepron and Azithromycin for Babesia I was flushing day and night, pretty CRAPPY. Since stopping that treatment I have increased progesterone and strted using testosterone cream, as well I am taking doxy for RMSF. My flushes have decreased significantly. I'm not sure if the mep?azith was causing the flushes or if the prog?test is helping to balance things out? I"m 46 and in menopause. Food for thought.

My hot flashes are not as intense. I'm also taking diflucan once per day for the past few weeks. It's hard to say what causes it, so I'm just dealing with it and will keep notes on it. I am not ruling out menopause. Thanks for the response, sunny days. smile
