I don't have drip sounds...but I have phantom sounds of people talking, like when I was driving, even with the radio off I would hear a murmur as if I had an AM talk station on. Another sound I hear is what sounds like talking in another room as if the TV is on really far away.

The way my LLMD described it as all nerves. Nerve signals are not matching up with physical actions.

I've had all kinds of phantom sounds (and phantom smells!) during my infections. Drove me batty for a very long time, until I finally realized that I was the only one that heard/smelled them! That set me on a quest to get rid of them!

And, as Njfillet said - the sounds are all about the nerves being infected or damaged. Lyme disease is a demyelinating disease. Most of our nerves are covered with a protective coating called the myelin sheath, this gets damaged during certain diseases like Lyme and MS. Demyelination is what causes the 'disruptions'.

The only thing I've seen that helps with remyelinating those nerves has been Lion's Mane, although it has taken some time to see benefits, they have been happening!!

I never heard phantom drips, but I often felt them! Like a cold drop of water was hitting my leg.

Would lions mane help with other nerve issues - dizziness, almost falling over, not being able to write neatly, etc?

I have exactly this. Sometimes i get up and walk around the parking lot looking for who is talking (i live in my car). I hallucinate visually, auditory and olfactory, but my auditory ones are always faint conversations

It may help some, but the dizziness and almost falling over sounds more like autonomic nervous system issues, not an issue with demyelinated nerves.

Traveler,

Do you think something like this might be helpful for such things?

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about this, so while it's not something I "recommend", I surely don't discourage others from trying it, if they have a mind to. The thing is, we have a bacterial infection, so many of these issues may not be able to be helped until that is at least under control - and that alone may "fix" the issues.

For me, it's not that my brain needs help(although it does), but even if my brain were working completely normally, I would still have demyelinated nerves, so 'retraining' my brain, won't fix that.

Back to the same old thing - it all depends on what is actually causing it.
