I've had all kinds of phantom sounds (and phantom smells!) during my infections. Drove me batty for a very long time, until I finally realized that I was the only
one that heard/smelled them! That set me on a quest to get rid of them!
And, as Njfillet said - the sounds are all about
the nerves being infected or damaged. Lyme disease is a demyelinating disease. Most of our nerves are covered with a protective coating called the myelin sheath, this gets damaged during certain diseases like Lyme and MS. Demyelination is what causes the 'disruptions'.
The only thing I've seen that helps with remyelinating those nerves has been Lion's Mane, although it has taken some time to see benefits, they have been happening!!
