We had a few posts on this last fall.

It was determined a certain brand in a glass bottle was the safest. I thought I bookmarked it...not. **Anyone remember this one specifically?**

The same brand with the palm tree (edit, regular tree) comes in glass too. Prices of glass bottled brands vary widely from $15-$65.

The popular plastic bottled one with a palm tree was deemed not as safe. I tried it topically on aching areas with no results. So if I need to try more, I want the safest form. Trying to dissolve/ break up below skin scared/stiff muscle / tendon tissue. Most info on this is from a cosmetic standpoint, I need to go deep.

The livestock care isle had some at the feed/farm store. I'm not to comfortable with this stuff. I've had enough chemical exposure from my younger years. thanks

Someone here was orally ingesting the good stuff.... if I remember correctly? wow, that takes cojones.

I’ve read somewhere that a blend of dmso with castor oil is helpful for pain and swelling, anyone heard this or tried it?

I’d like to try it on my frozen shoulder hangover.

Lapis mentioned it on my Soft tissue Catabolism post. Thats the one he must have been noting. Girlie- I see good Amazon reviews on that link.

I just had a what the he// moment and vigorously applied some palm tree plastic bottle DMSO on a front shoulder/arm tendon. Applied with a 1" wide natural horsetail paint brush from a shot glass. The stuff tingles in heavy application.

I never put it on this heavy in the past. Skin got kind of shrively looking and a little raised!- that must be what it does internally too- kind a freaky. Put a bunch on the top of my foot too. See how I feel tomorrow. I prob need to bathe in this stuff (joking).

I hope someone has tested this on lab rats somewhere? (sorry rats).

You’re the rat today! I can’t wait to hear how it goes......

Oh, I read someone mixed castor oil with fractionated coconut oil, maybe dmso could be diluted a bit with this too?

Yes, Astro...it is the one Lapis talks about (the one you linked is the same brand as the one I mentioned)
In particular, he talks about glass vs plastic.

Although, my husband has used the one with the Tree on it (in plastic)...so far ... so good.
He's still here.

Thats what I have from a few years ago,............and its definitely not a palm tree is it! LOL

I must sub-conscientiously have a tropical getaway on my mind. Could use one right now.

For what its worth, the plastic bottle is still durable as new, and its a few years old.

Wonder what DMSO does in your blood though, some has to end up there soaking in.

yes with heavy application that is normal.

put some aloe vitamin E oil on it and it will be fine. If you continue heavy application w/ no oil the skin will eventually turn rough in that area.

the tree label stuff is not only in the wrong plastic, its allso not true pharma grade DMSO which means it contains impurities and degrades over time. I personally would just throw it away.

DMSOstore.com stuff is legit pharma grade, its the only stuff i would ever put on/in my body.

astroman,

Hey, amigo. See the following thread I posted about two weeks ago. Be glad you're not dealing with this sort of scar tissue!

In particular, see:

1. The last post in the thread (1/17/2018), as it contains an e-book that may be helpful, and
2. The comment three posts up from the bottom (1/15/2018), as it mentions my experience with enzymes

I hope you find something that helps your muscle/tendon issue!

Best regards,
The Dude

Dude- I took serrapeptase and natto.. last year for any possible lyme cysts remaining and didnt herx on it (yippie). I forgot they work for all-over body fibrin which is in scar tissue. Expensive stuff though. Thats one heck of a E book; 200+ pages. Yes, at least my "member" is still good. Good luck down there.

atroman - after much dmso use I have found the key is NOT to apply large amounts, but rather small amounts daily, consistently. Over time you will see an effect.

also try eating LOTS of fresh greens saturated in olive oil. Recent research shows this combo create 'nitro fatty acids' which increased blood flow to all portions of the body and lower blood pressure. I have been doing this for a few weeks and its really great. Cook/fry the greens inf olive oil on very low heat until wilted but still a bit crunchy and all the olive oil is soaked up into the greens.

Interesting researching DMSO. The FDA made medical researching it on humans after 1965- or at least publishing results illegal. And its not FDA aproved because they dont know what to do with it. There are some rat tests published though. Its a cheap byproduct of the wood pulp industry, it a turpin so to speak compatible with water. Upon goggling- many people use it, its on many "general" forums to. It was written about many times during the running craze of the 1970's for repetitive motion injuries.

Even micro injuries (scar tissue and adhesions) inflamed during the healing process are like a bridge with lots of pylons in a river getting plugged up with floating debris. Theory is all the crud in your body that gets filtered by the liver is somewhat getting filtered by these plugged up injuries. The theory of DMSO, is it unlocks this natural crud in your tissues. After witnessing what is does to skin temporarily, this makes sense. So if this stuff has actual healing properties as opposed to a temporary pain covering band-aid, this would be how/why it works. It's literally a natural solvent thinning natural debris in your body to regain lost circulation in troubled areas of what our brains feel as "pain".

I've always mentioned that foam fitness rolling is a form of tissue detoxification, which it is. All the other manual muscle stuff I do and mention is just more aggressive detoxing of the area worked on. Unblocking inflammation dams and allowing new blood with its nutrients in is how tissue heals. Acute Inflammation is supposed to help heal, but in the long run , in chronic areas of repeated inflammation it becomes a blood "dam". That's what happens in repetitive motion injuries and areas subject to certain infections (LYME), or as I've recently learned, tissue exposed by excess cortisol for long periods - this is why chronic anxiety can also make some people sore.

My DMSO thoughts/observation/trial:

So it makes sense that (the above) manual tissue work and DMSO should work better together than alone. Yesterday morning I did some Gua-Sha muscle scraping on tight/sore areas which produces light busing from the capillaries (normal). Later yesterday I applied some DMSO to a few areas, I foam rolled and worked out.

This morning I applied more DMSO to the bruised areas of the "muscle scraping" technique of the previous day. I witnessed the bruising color go away in an hour, this usually stays there for four days. So, essentially, the DMSO cleared the "toxic debris blood pool" of the circulation dam previously mentioned in less than two hours - and it feels better. Gua-sha alone makes it feel better- but it needs repeating several times a week and is sore in between. Time will tell how long this lasts with the DMSO added, it seems to obviously speed up recovery time faster than expected.

I've decided to add scar tissue eating enzymes Nattokinase and Serrapeptase oral capsules and keep on taking D-Limonine for liver clean up. I would suspect all this debris dislodging can be hard on the liver.

(A human dunk tank of maybe 25% DMSO and water sounds ideal, who wants to try this first LOL?)

DMSO did not effect a rats healthy thyroid function:

(they just need to test it on a rat with a scared thyroid now)

Update: Only two nights after my first heavy application of straight topical DMSO, I just had the most pain free gym workout in many years .

Applied on shoulders, neck, hipflexors, hamstrings, Achilles tendons, hamstrings and left foot.

Without pain as my limit, my ability to do more weight than just a few days earlier was a reality. Its impossible to gain this kind of strength in a few days.......it was the DMSO limiting pain, not strength gain.

I'm deliberately holding off more applications just to see how long it lasts. The other night, I applied a lot more than I was comfortable with.

Hoping this actually breaks down the tight internal scar tissue as opposed to just covering pain. I read it can heal nerve tissue too. Thing like this just dont seem possible without some hidden bad side.
