Hey everyone. I have been having kidney pain since September. It started with a UTI of my bladder and then moved up into both kidneys.

After abx. All of the bladder symptoms got better but both kidneys were still hurting. Then I had a kidney stone blockage in my left kidney that required surgery and stents. It was very painful.

Since then I had another positive culture for uti. This time it was a different bacteria. I took abx. For 10 days but I still have the pain in both kidneys. The last culture was negative. Bloodwork is normal ct scan only shows a 2mm kidney stone in my right kidney that is not blocking anything and the Dr. Said that it should not be causing pain. Now the Dr. Wants to do a ct with contrast. I have a feeling that it won't show anything either. I've never had kidney pain with my Lyme disease so I cant figure out was is causing this awful pai . Also im afraid to self treat with herbs etc.. I did see a ND who was very expensive and he has me on 2 herbal kidney formulas 2 homeopathic drops and another suppliment for uric acid because my test showed borderline high level. The pain is severe and I'm barely making it through the day. Has anyone else had something like this?

I noticed that I forgot to add a subject to my post so I tried to edit it but when I went back to the post it was still missing. What did I do wrong. I wanted to make the subject "Kidney pain" if someone can fix it for me.

hydrangea root does wonders for kidney stone related issues. Juniper, Uva Ursi, and Goldenrod are also excellent kideny support herbs. Take on empty stomach with tea, coffee or hot water.

Well, I've had some pretty serious kidney pain, but mine was related to the need to get them detoxed. I don't know if that would be an issue for you to look into or not though. See if your ND will talk to you about this - they should know that sometimes we need to detox certain organs. If not, don't let that stop you from getting the answers you need though. Keep asking questions of everyone until you get your answers!!

And, I'm so sorry about all the issues you are having with your kidneys!

So I have had the kidney and uti issues--frontal sinus also.
My uroligist got nowhere and could never cure it-long term.
My doc found an dental infection above number 8 ( dental chart). When I looked it
up 10,000 years of tcm related this space to uti-kidney( front teeth space).
Im not saying thats your issue-i am saying if you keep running into roadblocks you
should consider it and see a biological dds

Thanks everyone. Traveler, what did you use to detox your kidneys? I did see a ND recently that put me on 2 herbal formulas about a week ago but I haven't noticed any improvement and actually they make me feel bad. (Shallow breathing, nervousness, and worsening fatigue) I'm not even sure if I should continue them. The visit to the ND wad $385 so I hate not to keep taking it. Ugh!

I discovered that my coffee substitute - made with roasted Barley and chicory, and then I use Yogi brand detox tea (regular flavor) as it also helps detox my kidneys as well as other organs.

What may be happening is that it's too much too fast? Can you lower your doses for a bit and see if it's just an overload of toxins being released because of the herbal formulas? Did you start on higher doses, or just a drop or two? Also, you should talk to your ND to see what they suggest as well, since they wanted you to take it.

Lapis 29, There are 2 herbal formulas. Each has a lot of herbs in them. To many to list. The formulas are made by systemic formulas and are called bio function K and bio challenge KDIR. Also im taking Uriprinol for uric acid build up and 2 homeopathic drops called Algeno and Renelix.
Traveler I'll try the detox tea next. Thank you

2 things, first off one of those formulas have a large amount of mangenese in it which the lyme bacteria thrive on. Your ND should have known that. I personally would not take it ever. Also when you take formulas with large amounts of different ingredients its impossible to determine which ingredient is helping or hurting

I personally would try taking 1 or 2 herbs at a time, in good amounts, to see if they help. Hydrangea is a really powerful under utilized kidney herb, also very cheap.

The thing is, just because the bacteria use a nutrient to survive, doesn't mean the body doesn't still need it.

"Manganese is a trace mineral that is present in tiny amounts in the body. It is found mostly in bones, the liver, kidneys, and pancreas. Manganese helps the body form connective tissue, bones, blood clotting factors, and sex hormones. It also plays a role in fat and carbohydrate metabolism, calcium absorption, and blood sugar regulation. Manganese is also necessary for normal brain and nerve function."

While we aren't after trying to give the bacteria all it needs to continue to survive inside of us, we certainly do need manganese for many pretty important body functions, and by denying the body what it needs, we are not giving the body the fighting chance it needs to be able to conquer these infections. Compromised bodies can't conquer these infections, as proven by the hundreds of us just on this one site looking for answers.

Supporting the body, despite what the bacteria take is what we need to work towards. A well functioning body will stand a much higher chance of beating these infections and keeping them under control.

With the things you are currently taking, do be careful using this. Herbs are powerful medicine, and I surely wouldn't want you following my suggestions if they are not right for you. But, with that said - I hope you find it helpful!!!

Thanks everyone for all of your ideas and information. My kidneys are a little better. I'm about to finish up the herbal formulas in a few days and then my plan is to detox like crazy with some of the ideas that I've gathered on this forum. I'll check back in in a couple of weeks.

So TCM would connect kidney/bladder to your front four teeth-upper and lower.
If you havent found ur answer consider it

1 oz apple cider vinegar in a cup of water 1-2xper day.
Near instant relief for me.

Help soften kidney stones and helps neutralize oaxalate and ammonia from bugs.

I think a record for number of posts all in a row.

When Dude posted that - you were the last poster (your name was showing up on the right hand side of the screen) for about 10 posts...

I have a systemic yeast infection, and taking acv only flared my kidney pain (and did not help). I do not believe it was a herx at all - but a flare instead. Just be careful on the acv. smile
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.
