Does anybody know the best test to show if you have candida? I think many of us assume we have candida due to some of our symptoms. But how do we know for sure? And to what's degree?

I've read stool testing is the best. Can't recall the lab.

Candida detection is not rocket science unlike some other stuff we talk about. I used a standard blood lab test at a regular Dr. ; Candida albicans igg, iga, igm

www.questdiagnostics.com/testcenter/TestDetail.action?ntc=30440

Even though I was / am immune compromised in some areas, I still developed antibodies towards it . Insurance paid 100%, since Quest is a normal lab. I did it several times.

The problem is that New York doesn't do that test anymore. I don't know the reasoning!!

Wow...Its a standard lab test, no "smoke and mirrors" at all. NY has some weird health laws. Should we say "anti-health laws" ?

My only advice is to not focus/limit yourself to testing candida. There are other strains.

I've had candida tests come back negative, but yet I still had a systemic chronic yeast infection that was causing health issues. Well, wouldn't you know it... my yeast is a non-candida strain (saccharomyces cerevisiae). I've posted about that frequently on this board.

So, my advice to all is.... don't forget that if the candida albicans test is negative, there are other strains of candida and non-candida pathogenic strains. Unfortunately, vast majority of doctors/test/internet information focuses only on candida albicans. sad
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.
