So Buhner talks a lot about controlling the 'cytokine storm' and remodulation them and this is a big reason why we don't feel well.

Question I have has anyone had any success with doing the specific herbs and actually felt better knowing it was controlling the cytokines? It's one thing to read something its another thing to hear real world experiences. Thx.

I did not react well to the cytokine remodulator herbals that Buhner recommended. It caused flareups of prior injuries from many years ago. It seemed to cause inflammation for me - instead of helping me. I can't confirm that, but it's what I suspect.

After I quit it, it took several weeks for the symptoms they caused to go away again.

I seriously don't understand some of my reactions to herbals. It is really frustrating. sad
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.

Rikky,
I take the danshen/skullcap combo. I can't remember what other ones are for cytokine remodulation, I take so many herbs. At first, I thought it increased my inflammation, but now I take a large dropper full 3x day. Can't say it makes me feel better. I can't tell that anything makes me feel better. I personally feel like I have a lot of infections of various kinds. I'm taking a lot of stuff that hits a lot of things. I'm 8 months into herbal treatment and still have almost constant struggles. I do believe in the herbs, though, and I will keep treating and adjusting things as I go along.

Honestly, i've found that antibacterials are the only thing that help me. I've tried ashwaganda, chinese skullcap, and salvia miltiorrhiza as Buhner recommended but none of them really made a huge difference and it gets expensive. But then again neither did pharmaceutical anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen 600 and what ever the docs tried me on way back. Knotweed and cat's claw on the other hand have produced some herxing followed by profound improvement.

Yes lapis i found those proto #s .then miaplaced ...i will get them from my office .sorry been super bizzy with clients/life. .

A compunding pharm makes it , i talked my doc who uses for cancer patients into trying for my vasculitis ...amazing results but psilo maybe right too in that it could be anti-protozoan...my heart/head inflammation went down immediately. If nothing else i feel like i got a healthy coating of curry in my veins !?... (it stains the iv tube )

Psilo,

Thanks for sharing that about knotweed and cat's claw. Every time I try to increase my knotweed, my joint/tendon stiffness gets worse. I just used up all the cat's claw tincture I had, which I was taking 5 drops of and now I'm back to the powdered whole cat's claw. Taking a pinch of that. My joint/tendon stiffness has been really bad lately. Not sure if it's that or something else. Hoping some day I'll get some kind of improvement. I've been on the herbs for 8 months now. Been in constant pain for almost 3 years now. I'm so tired of this. I just want to feel better instead of worse all the time.
