Has anybody experienced any skin breakouts from Japanese knotweed, cats claw or andrographis?

I go through cycles while treating lyme of breaking out with pimples like I'm going through puberty again.

Is this what you are talking about or are you talking more a "rash"?
Lyme (Igenex) - Positive IFA and WB bands 23, 31, 41
Ehrlichia (Igenex)
Mycoplasma (Labcorp) - Score: 595

ABX Treatment: 03/2016-04/2016; 7/2017-9/2017
Buhner Protocol for Lyme and Mycoplasma: May 2016 - Dec. 2016; 8/2017 - Present

Little pimples. In the meantime I'm almost 60 yrs old. Lol. It's not enough to feel horrible but I don't need things to make me feel like I look horrible. Wrinkles are enough to deal with. Lol.

I've had breakouts so bad during treatment. I'm 51 and never had pimples even as a teenager. Not digging them now. I mean there was not a spot on my face that didn't have pimples. Yuck.

But I found something that keeps my skin clear now.

I use a bentonite clay mask once a week. I mix it with braggs apple cider vinegar instead of water. No more breakouts after the first time I used it. My skin looked so much clearer as soon as I washed it off and the next day not one pimple at all. Now use it weekly cause I don't want anymore of that nonsense again. It's hard enough to look awful don't need pimples too.

Lymesick,
I think your right about the skin detoxing. I feel like my skin was struggling to detox and the clay really does the job.

Wow, joee - what great results!

I've never had pimples either...certainly don't want to get them now!

I'll keep this in mind if I do get them.

I’ve been breaking out bad on my forehead, also found that bentonite clay masks help as well as going to the infrared sauna to help unblock clogged pores

I'm glad someone brought this up. I've had some large blind pimples on my chin occur back in Sept. They never developed fully into a cyst and took two weeks to resolve on their own. In December a few more returned in the same area, and I applied a drop or two of Frankincense oil on them. Within a few days the inflammation was reduced and it was gone within a week. Now, as soon as I feel one developing, I apply Frankincense and it's gone in a few days.

I spoke with my LLMD on this last Nov and she didn't think it was caused by acme. It seems that some toxins are being purged thru the skin, and based on them being isolated to my chin they may be teeth and jaw-bone related. And we know how Lyme like teeth.

I'm trying see if there is any correlation of the cysts to my current ABX pulse schedule. They seem to occur every 3 to 4 week since Sept. During my 7 years of treatment I can only recall one or two occurrences of anything similar. And that was usually after a month long ABX break.

Our skin is a huge organ. It can absorb things and it can eliminate toxins. It needs just as much care as our liver and kidneys.

Dry brushing will slough off some toxins. You can use a dry wash cloth for your face. Careful, you can over exfoliate.

I love my clay mask for detoxing my face. There are MANY brands and I can't say that one is the best because I have not tried them all. I do go for organic though. I use it sparingly as to not over dry my face.

Water flushes through our skin and it keeps the skin supple. Always drink enough water.

Vitamin C is super important. I take vitamin C and keep upping the dose just until my stools get loose. Then I back off that last dose and that is the dose that my body requires.

Most of the rest of skin care is just common sense. You can google and find that you should eat well, etc.

Interesting thread. Tickbite, is a ‘blind’ pimple one that never fully develops? If so, I’ve had tons of them.

Prior to treatment I had them ( also on my chin &upper lip) almost constantly. Since getting a few months into my treatment I haven’t had any more ( hope i don’t jinx myself) ...

I kinda made up my own theory that my body was trying to get rid of toxins but didn’t have the energy to do so. Your explanation of relation to dental issues makes a lot of sense.

Anyway, hopefully I won’t need to try the Frankincense oil, but good to know just incase.

yes, by "blind" I mean never fully developed. They a just raised, red, firm to the touch, very tender, and nothing to drain.

As others have mentioned you definitely need to clean the oil, grit and grime out of the pours. Simply soap and water isn't enough. Something you can rub in and get a deep clean and rinse off.

This stops it for me as well.

Very interesting term for it. I get these as well.

I get both traditional pimples and "blind" pimples.

I wish all of them were blind because the blind ones don't leave a blemish. Pimples do and even when they are "gone" the blemish is there for like a month after.

Also to echo what others have said, skin is also an organ (the largest if I'm not mistaken) and it's an organ that is part of the detoxing network of the body.

When I go through a period of "lyme puberty" I wash my face really well every night with facial cleanser and then I back off a little bit on herbs that boost the liver like milk thistle and choline. Too much detoxing is most likely causing the pimples.

A glass is half full look at this is, it's often said that the skin is the last layer of detoxing. So if lymies are having issues with pimples then it can mean the body is really doing a good job of getting toxin out of the body.

I get pimples from andrographis. I was worried about it, but when I was taking modified citrus pectin they went away, so it must be some kind of detox problem

Andrographis can cause really bad hives. Any skin reactions should be considered a warning sign.
