Hi all,

Some of you might already have read some of my posts, but I'm really starting to lose hope.

Basically my journey began 4 years ago in 2014 (honestly my brain is so messed up now that it could have been 2013)

I was living in an apartment with mold, and became really sick I had sinus infections, breathing issues, weak muscles, severe fatigue etc.

I moved to a different apartment December 2014 (with no mold) and thought my issues would go away.

They didn't go away, in fact, only the sinus infections and breathing issues stopped.

Spent the next years trying to figure out what was wrong with me:

2015, 2016, part of 2017.

Then in the beginning of 2017, I tested positive for Lyme.

My theory is that the mold 'activated' my Lyme that was already in my body, since I keep seeing this connection being brought up.

I tried treatment 4 times in 2017, please forgive me for my measurements of time being so vague, it's one of my Lyme symptoms where I can't recall time frames. But I'll try:

Attempt 1: Doxycycline + Flagyl (2 months I think)

Attempt 2: Azithromycin + Ceftin + Rifampin (Also 2 months I think)

Attempt 3: Buhner herbs. (not sure how long)

Attempt 4: Buhner herbs. (almost 2 months).

I'm upset with myself about stopping Attempt 4, I was finally taking the herbs consistently.

I started it in the beginning of November 2017 and ended it at the end December 2017.

When I ask myself, why I stopped taking all these herbs in December, I don't even know the answer.

It's not a lack of motivation because I really want to get better, I hate Lyme so much.

But It's like all days just blend into each other, nothing has structure, I don't have energy for anything, then before you know it a month has gone by without me taking my herbs and I don't even really know why I haven't been taking them. The only thing I can do is be angry at myself and ask myself why?

Now I'm not sure what to do.

I was hoping you all could give me some advice.

Should I maybe go back on antibiotics?

I was having some improvements with Buhner herbs, but it just went so incredibly slow.

I had side effects on antibiotics, that's why I stopped both times.

But I've been reading about Dapsone and thought why not try that? Sure it's an aggressive treatment, but what do I have to lose at this point?

I can't afford a LLMD. The only thing I really have going for me when it comes to Lyme is a general practitioner who's open minded about trying different treatments.

Sorry for the vent, not feeling great.

Thank you.

Hi LymeSick,
Please don't beat yourself up - it's not like you are dealing with things under your control. I've been in your shoes more often than I like to admit to (it's a scary spot to be in!).

So, what about writing up a schedule for yourself. If you are off treatments, and have been for a while, then you will likely need to start at step one again (sorry! I know how that feels!), but it's the safest place for you to start.

If you have not yet had mold treatment, I would suggest that's where you need to start. Most people that are dealing with mold and Lyme need to treat the mold infections before they can make a lot of headway on the other infections. Get evaluated and tested for mold strains - this usually includes a nasal swab. One the strains are identified, then treatment can begin.

I would encourage you to start on the herbs though - just stay on low doses for now, as they will help you with your symptoms too.

Whatever you choose to do, I wish you the best of luck!

Thank you so much Traveler, your post is so helpful to me.

I think you're right, maybe I need to start with the mold first.

I read about modified citrus pectin and thought maybe I can add that to see if I see some improvement.

But first and foremost, like you said, to work up a plan, would be a great idea.

Thank you so much again.

Have you taken anything for the mold (cholestyramine (CSM) or other binder)? Treatment may not be successful until you clean that up in your system. Mold is a toxin and if you can’t clear it and you are adding lyme toxins to the mix...

If you can’t get CSM, I would try modified citrus pectin. It’s a weak version of CSM.

I wanted to agree with K07 too.

See what you can do to get started, and keep asking those questions!!! That's how many of us finally find the direction we need to start!

I identify with your suffering as I experienced much of it first hand. It is a long an arduous road to treat this and when you finally do feel better you will still need to get ahead of the mycotoxins. I am continuously using Fucoidan in hopes to head off the long term effects of exposure, but you have a long way to go first, but it is possible to recover.

One thing that helped me greatly was to keep a daily health diary of what I was taking and how I was feeling. It is especially important due to the brain fog and lack of mental capacity to remember it all.

I am looking deeply into Chlorine Dioxide as well as other oxidants now. I think the fear of it is overblown but I have no evidence other than the proponents of the treatment (Dr. Andreas Kalcker and others like him).

If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to reach out to my email and disclose that you are from this group.

Hi Lymsick,

I just made a post about herbs and books that have really helped me so far. Super immune by quantum health really helped me over only the past two weeks.

Traveler: Thank you so much again! You're very helpful!

k07: Thank you, I think maybe I'll start with modified citrus pectin, I think I could get a prescription but I'm a bit worried to start with that. This is great advice. Thank you.

ChickenArise: Thank you so much for identifying with me, I thought I was the only one. I will start keeping a diary, this is great.

Brinb: I'm going to look up your post! Thank you!! smile

An update to everyone: I took Glutathione yesterday and my anxiety went through the roof. Which is strange because herxes for me usually don't involve anxiety. Maybe I'll try citrus peptin first??

Something to be aware of with detoxing is that when those toxins are released from the tissues, they move into the bloodstream first, where we can actually herx worse (even though we are trying to detox!). So, by using highly effective detoxing methods, like glutathione, we end up putting ourselves into herxing (not intentionally most times), because our body can't then clear the toxins from the bloodstream fast enough to prevent an increase in our symptoms.

This is often referred to as 'over detoxing', and the only way out of this is to slow down on the detoxing, so your body has the chance to clear toxins fast enough to keep up. This is explained in this article, as well as some other possible issues: www.tiredoflyme.com/4-reasons-why-you-still-feel-bad-despite-detoxing.html
