Hi alunke82,

I did get that same hot flush feeling after eating but not the burning eyes. That feeling went away wit ongoing treatment.

Im not sure what caused it and others should be along with some input.

Take care, Jo

I've had all kinds of issues with eating, and while I've very definitely had the hot flush after eating that lasts for a while, I usually also have bloating along with that - but not the burning eyes. I would get burning eyes as a 'regular' symptom that would just last all day, not connected with eating in any way.

Just to be sure - is it possible that you have food allergies? I'm (very highly) allergic to soy, which is in everything practically - and I was getting 'dosed' with my allergen several times a day without realizing it (because it's in everything!!!). This is a possibility, although I don't know if it's likely with those symptoms.

It's possible that the reason you feel better when you go to bed after eating is that digestion relies solely on the parasympathetic nervous system, which is the one that determines if we are in "fight or flight" mode, or if we are in the 'rest and digest' mode. When we are relaxed and laying in bed, our parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) takes over and digestion is much easier on the body.

I have experienced the eye problem a lot too. Burning and ithching, often together with strange head.-pains and also a lot of pain down the nose. It do seem to be food-related though, if I keep away from that food stuff I know messes things up the symptoms gradually go away. But coming back if I start eat wrong again.

Unfortunately, yes, these infections can and do this to lots of us. I couldn't get a positive test until I had a full 12 months of treatment.

Lyme lowers the immune function, which is very much needed to operate at 'full capacity' to defend us from the infection and to produce those oh-so-valuable antibodies for testing positive. The problem is that too many doctors don't seem to want to understand this. Why? Well there are lots of opinions, but no hard facts as to why.

I do have ONE doctor listed in Denmark that treats these infections though. If you would send me an email, I'd be happy to share that information with you.
