After 3 years of dealing with a bad doctor who refused to test me, and then after forcing him to do so, I failing the Labcorp test, but testing positive on 2/3 bands on GeneX, I declared my doctor incompendent and decided to take things in my own hand. The light in the tunnel was when my doctor gave me one week of antibiotics for something else -- and it cured all of my lyme symptoms, but then came roaring back after the prescription expired.

This was in July/August.

For the first few months I took Amoxicillian 500mg (fishmox) 3 times a day. After a while, it stopped working and I have stomach pain.

Then after a short break, a few months in, I took Amox 500mg twice a day. This time with Cat's claw. That was until December.

Then I started taking Amoxicillian/Cat's Claw and Stevia whole leaf extract. Occasionally I took minocycline 50mg. Yes, fishmino. I do not like minocycline it causes some weird behavior in me.

Throughout this entire process, I stopped every two or three weeks and counted the days I could last without symptoms. Usually it was 3 days without symptoms (tiredness/fatigue was the main one), but a few times I got to 6 days.

During the whole time I became incapacitated and unable to work (for the last few years actually struggling to meet ends).
Basically I am completely broke and spent my last money on fishmox and propane for heat. The power company let me send in a medical form for now. Somehow during this time I came up with money to see a LLMD thanks to everyone here to gave me a list.

I did not have enough money for the prescriptions (Augmentum and Nax-something, and a few anti-mold), but last week a friend of mine lent me enough cash to buy it. I am ordering them now (the first company screwed up) -- but my LLMD wanted me to do a PCR test before I got them. This required I stopped my fishmox/cat's claw/stevia protocol. Which I have done, to become symptomatic so that the PCR test can get what exactly I have.

Well I want to say that today is DAY 9 -- the longest I have gone, without symptoms.

The only problem I have is occasional itching at night, which I have been taking Stevia extract which stops it within seconds. I am HOPING my itching is just mold related. If it is, I may have stopped this disease in its track (probably not completely), but I am making progress!

I am upping my pro-biotics this week and feel great. I have been sleeping well and waking up without an alarm clock.

The whole time felt like hell (and I imagine there will be more) including at one point, I did not eat or sleep for 4 days (which I found out I needed to lower my cat's claw amount). Also I became addicted to cheap tabacco but that's a nothingburger compared to the hell I went through.

Anyway there's hope people!

Thanks for the great update, so glad your making headway against these infections.

Just be sure to if you are having any symptoms you would still need to e treating in some way.

They say here that you need to be at least 2 months or more symptom free.

I also believe it is wise to do some kind of herbal maintenance to keep it from coming back again.

Take care, Jo

Thanks for posting your progress..

Great you are doing so well!

As goshawk mentioned....don't stop until you are symptom free for a couple months.

You might want to consider pulsing your ABX two weeks ON, and then take two weeks OFF. Keep your herbals constant is said to work the best.

After a few pulse cycles and feeling OK try to increase to three weeks OFF for a while, then move up to four weeks OFF. Through the pulse cycles keep a good daily symptoms log to try to detect sx flares and trends.

I wish we could pin point exactly what the itchy skin specifically at night really is. I've heard numerous theories. But this is SUCH a common symptom and it happening specifically at night that I wish there was more concrete answers instead of people's best guesses.

Congrats on progress. As long as you are going in the right direction then that's worth celebrating.
