I think it would be a good idea to go off gluten and see how you feel. And don't include the chips and chocolate in your diet on a regular basis...

You had a tick bite...and then 2 months later - symptoms started, right? I wouldn't question your diagnosis.
What were your test results? Anything significant to back up your diagnosis?

You said you were bit. Did you see what bit you?

Your first symptoms were being tired and then the stomach pain and diarrhea started. You're not sure it's Lyme because you can't find where anyone else's symptoms started with stomach pain and diarrhea.

I think everyone is different in what they remember and define as their first symptoms when they really realized something was wrong. Mine started with what I initially thought was an allergic reaction to shrimp, but it wasn't. Went to the ER three times that night, took 4 doses of Benadryl in a 24 hour period, and shot myself with an Epipen trying to stop the tingling sensations in my face and mouth that kept coming and going all night. I had had a real allergic reaction to shrimp a year before and the tingling felt very similar. I didn't feel right from that point on but didn't have any earth-shaking symptoms again until a month later. That's when my world turned upside down.

Hi alunke82,

Testing for Lyme and the co infections can be unreliable.

Not everyone has the same symptoms all the time. Lyme can mimic many diseases.

There are also other infections that ticks can transmit when they attach to us.

They cause many different symptoms.

You were bitten by a tick and know have all these symptoms, you can be clinically diagnosed by an Lyme literate MD.

You would need ongoing treatment and the llmd should know how to treat by the symptoms you are presenting with.

Take care and I wish you the best of healing, Jo

Hi alunke82,

When i first got sick mine presented in my stomach as well. I have a Very Long story as i have been sick for a very long time.. But mine defenitelly presented itself as stomach problems first.. Then for awhile i felt like i had the flu all the time nausea/ stomach pain then came the racing heart palpitations then feeling like i had been hit by a truck... etc etc... I spent So much time going to gastroenterologists trying to figure out what was wrong with me at that time.. When nobody could figure it out. I worked in the medical field at the time so i spent all my spare time doing nothing but research on what it could be and how to heal my stomach (which after awhile through complete diet change and a bunch of all natural things i had put together for the most part i did) but that didnt matter all that much because of all the other mounting symptoms that kept piling up..

Anyways, my point is i spent so much time being misdiagnosed and being treated for things i didn't have.. Time i can never get back.. So i missed out on getting the proper treatment that i did need which I am certainly paying for in ways you wouldn't even want to imagine. You are lucky enough to know that you got bit by a tick so that you can get the proper treatment. Espically since it sounds as you are in what sounds like somewhat earlier stages. Lyme Disease is Serious! It is nothing to mess around with. I don't say this to scare you but to urge you to get the proper treatment for it. When it comes to Lyme Disease time is of the essence. The quicker you get the proper treatment you need the better your chances are of eradicating this awful disease and being able to resume your once healthy lifestyle.

That is the thing about lyme Disease is that it can present itself so differently in people with no 1 person being the same. It also depends on what Lyme bacteria you have been infected with. Lyme can cause just about any symptom you can immagine. That is why it is called "the great immmitator". It is also a lot more common then you think for it to present as flu like symptoms such as yours. I have either had or currently have every symptom you have described and over 100's more..
I currently have the ringing in the ears and through the head that your describing just to a more severe degree. That is also another symptom of lyme often signigaling the fact that you need immediate treatment before it could become perminant and loss of hearing.. I had EBV come up in test results in the begining stages and all theses many years later i still often have very high EBV levels as it sometimes reactivates itself.

The blue fingernales and toes when cold that your describing is prob something called Reynauds syndrome. Which is typically associated with connective tissue disorders and Lyme Disease which likes to often reside in our connective tissues.

Your racing heart when standing is prob something called POTS. That stands for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.. Which is really just a fancy name for an increased heart rate upon standing. This is very common in many people with Lyme Disease.

Diet is Extremely important when it comes to Lyme. Any kind of sugar is the worst with Lyme. If i were you i would change my diet and eat as healthy as possible. Maybe try eating organic as much as possible for awhile to see if that helps your stomach, incoperate some probiotics and try some Aloe Very Leaf juice. Most importantly i would urge you to find a LLMD as soon as possible so that you can get the proper treatment you need. Also testing for Lyme can be extremely unreliable. Most DRS. do not know how to test properly for it which most often then not results in a false negative when you could be extremly sick with Lyme Disease.. Trust me it happened to me until i found a more reputable lab that knew how to test for it so i had my own blood drawn and sent there.

Hi Alunke!

Dont wanna disappoint you but my first trouble was diarrhoea too. Summer 2015 was horrible. Had a truck drive job and evil stomach was very much trouble. Didn connect it with lyme then though. But I did find out a lot of other things. One was I had become very intolerant to soya. I cut it out and more or less cut out milk stuff too and the diarrhea gradually disappeared. It would resurface once a month or so when I had missed my diet. Then one year ago, around jan 2017 the opposite problem struck me. Constipation and I lost 25 kilo weight from 86 to 65.
What i advice you to very much do is to cut out some suspicious food products. And be realistic it could very well be lyme that is causing this...

Alunke, if it isnt Lyme it sure is no doubt the exactly same disease I have been struggling with the last 2 years.

I will write down a list of what I have figured out diet-wise and other conclusions and give you, no need you have to re-do all that yourself. i will put it together tonight after work.

I did feel more better when I started taking magnesium. Especially in the beginning I started taking both magnesium and Zink. I can recall next few days I felt a great change for the better, although it wasnt a definite cure. I will make a list of my findings though, will send it to you asap...

Alunke, here is my diet experiences and other stuff I have found out during all the trouble.

My first thing that happened was nasty stomach trouble, and diarrhea. It took a good 6 months before it stabilized. I did found some products causing this (could be individual, but this was the culprits for me anyway)

Soya. It was causing a lot of the problems i found out.
Milk and dairy products. All of them was contributing too I found out. Trying Keso, different kinds of cheese all was negative in the end…
Yeast products: This is really something I dont like to give up. Bread, etcetera. But I gradually switched to rice cakes instead.

And a lot of spice ingredients like cayenne, garlic, pepper and whatnot. I had to cut out all this.
Funny though, when I got out of diarrhea and constipation started I took back theese spices and they worked the other contributing way instead..

Hmm, this is really all I found out. Believe me, I analyzed everything I ate and my reaction afterwards for about 6 months, so I am quite sure this is what triggered it for me. Now I havent have diarrhea for several months. Only when I lack discipline and mess up my eating, which happens too much…

But, not so funny, as I changed the diet and removed theese products, constipation suddenly kicked in, that was about a year ago, januari 2017. And I would welcome diarrhea any day compared to that experience….

I found out one really big culprit here, and that is over-eating. A hard one for me, but cutting down the meal-sizes to about 60% was necessary. One other thing to do was to stopp eating after dinner like around 15-16 o clock.

Alunke, one other very important experience I would like to share. I tried during this a long period being vegetarian. But now I can confidently say that being strict vegetarian was not helping me anyway. A small amount of meat every second day or so is what i stick to now.

As for getting rid of the headaches, headpaines, nausea and whatnot, remove all sugar and lots of carbo. Eaven fruits with a few exception (Ananas, kiwi).
Eating small size meals of majorly fat and protein and lots of green vegetables is what stabilizes me now. Problem is to keep the discipline, as craving for sugar is quite strong.

Hmm, no idea. Are you a vegetarian now? If not, I reckon its is smaller chance you would have deficiency in any vitamin. Its a good idea to take some extra of everything in a reasonable amount anyway though.

If body is struggling with infection I guess this is the main underlying cause for feeling destroyed. Be aware that what I found out isnt a cure though, it just releaved me from the most severe pains. Adopting a protocol with antibiotics and medicin is probably the next step to take, but i have little knowledge about how to do that....

Most people are magnesium deficient. What type are you taking and what dosage? I think mag glycinate is what most docs like. Maybe try a lower dosage? Some people get loose stools.

I get the burning feet off and on in the evenings. It is just another expression of neuropathy. The vibrating inside is also something many of us get. Sounds like you have a degree of autonomic dysfunction called POTS.

Tests only support the Diagnosis, it remains a clinical diagnosis. First keep a journal for at least a month on symptoms then take the Horowitz questionaire.
