Strange symptom...wondering if any others have dealt with this....i think it happens as part of herxing but not really sure....While sort of half asleep all night, I seem to feel a sense of extreme depression and gloom. In the morning, I'm back to "normal" (very slight constant depression and tons of anxiety).

What is causing that?
Lyme, Bartonella, Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever, Mycoplasma, EBV, Coxsackie B, Chlamydia Pnemoniae, Parvo, Mold
Tried: Zhang (18 months), Cowden (3 months), LDI( 3months), UVLrx (3 months), now assortment of herbs, homeopathy, vitamins and detox.

I get the same thing... Not so much anxiety though. I was taking wormwood for a while and I thought maybe it was making it worse. I always feel more depressed toward morning, and sometimes I have strange dreams.

When I wake in the early morning - before it’s time to get out of bed -sometimes I get low level anxiety and gloom and doom.
Then I go back to sleep and it will happen again before I get out of bed.

It is much better than it was a few years ago.
Hoping it will eventually go away completely. Not sure why it’s at night - I rarely get any anxiety during the day now.

Horrible way to start the day.

similar to Girlie I would get anxiety while trying to sleep and then wake up with anxiety and little bit of depression in the morning. It fades about an hour after waking. I no longer have this symptom but I use to for a like a whole year.

So you are probably going through something similar but for you it's happening in the middle of your sleep.

A lot of lymies talk about symptoms popping up or being worse at night (me included). Everything from itchy skin to anxiety.

Two things are more active at night in humans. Immune system and lymphatic system (as both systems overlap and work together).

Though I don't have scientific proof that shows correlation is causation, this has to play a role.

My Babs attacks - this time with extreme anxiety, vibrations, and heart palpitations - have been flaring every night. Always at night. Woke up from a very anxious dream and took almost an hour to convince myself that it wasn’t real and I wasn’t really anxious about it.

Quote of the day from my LLMD: “Babesia’s a b**** to get rid of.” I’m feelin it.
Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella. Symptoms began 5/2016, didn't start treatment until 9/2016. Slow but steady recovery.

Does it make a difference if you abstain from food in the afternoon and evening? I have experienced not eating after 16 or so makes the mind much calmer during nightsleep. And I always feel almost free from all sickness in the mornings...

Eating very light or eaven nothing during evening time is said to have many benefits. Consider the Theravadan Buddhist monks, never eating any solid food after 12 o clock and most of them monks I have met seem quite peaceful, bet their sleeping pattern is quite reko as well.

Its a little bit uncomfortable and might bring some tiredness until you get used to it, but it would be a good trade-off for getting rid of nightmares and sleeping anxiety. Worth trying out...

I have noticed that certain symptoms are routinely worse at night, while other certain symptoms are routinely worse in the morning. Some times I get a few hours of relief (from some symptoms) in the afternoon.

I get the itchy crawlies at night, anxiety, OCD behavior, flushing, wired-tired, and significant achilles tendon pain. In the morning, as I'm waking I have excruciating pain in my legs in bed, which makes me cry and feel gloom and doom until the pain lets up.
