Hello, I imagine there has already been discussion about this, but hopefully you don't mind me starting a new one! My llmd did the CD8-CD57 test and my results are 48. I've been doing treatment for a year and a half and before I started my CD57 was at 70, so my question is why is it getting worse instead of better? We also re-tested for Bart and Babesia and Bart was still negative and Babs IgM was still positive at 40. I've been treating Babs for about 7-8 months. Does that mean the treatment I've been doing has not been working? Any thoughts?

The cd57 isn't always accurate...In fact some LLMD's don't use it for that reason.

You can't rely on the testing to know if your treatment is working - your Babs Igm positive doesn't mean anything at this point. Your body can continue to produce those antibodies even if you are knocking down the infections.

Maybe you will need to treat bartonella....it's possible your cd57 is reflecting a bart infection.

Babesia can take longer than 7-8 months unfortunately.

I would gauge treatment by how you feel...are you losing symptoms? Are you feeling better?

Thanks Girlie! It's so hard to tell if things are better. Right from the beginning of my symptoms I would have periods where I felt totally fine and the suddenly my switch would go off and my world would fall apart! That still seems to be the pattern, I'll go through periods where I think I'm getting better and then out of no where I feel like I'm dying again! I also never know how long the good or bad episodes will last, sometimes days, sometimes longer. I'm really considering trying just the herbal route since I feel my whole body has so much yeast and fungal issues due to all the antibiotics. Do you think herbs are enough for Babesia?

I know people who have healed on herbals alone.

I would think that many of them did have Babesia - as its not rare.

We have forum members who healed with herbals - Traveler, PeteZa, Deejavu are a few who come to mind.

Also many people who have started out with abx and finished off treating with herbals - cd3764, Rowingmom's daughter, Multifacetedme -

There are more...I just can't think of them now.

That is definitely encouraging! I just feel if I'm not making some really good progress then perhaps I need to try a more natural approach and give my body a break. Thanks againsmile

You can also take a break and go back on the abx down the road.
