Hi guys.

Have you heard to talk about Sarah Vaughter? I am intrigued by what he says in his articles about the treatment of lyme. What's your opinion?

I've posted some of her articles before, but they didn't seem to garner any interest.

okay now I do remember....

They list several people who were diagnosed with ALS and are well after lyme treatment.

If I was diagnosed with ALS (or MS) I would definitely treat for lyme.
The way I look at it...some 'thing' is causing those. What have you got to lose anyway?

I agree, Girlie.

By the way, this is Sarah's main website:

owndoc.com

And, because it's easy to miss, she has a sub-page on Lyme Disease:

owndoc.com/lyme

The "Comments" section often contains some heated exchanges between Sarah and commenters.

From naysayers wanting to believe in a fatal ALS diagnosis?

I've never understood why people get their diagnosis and they're fine with it...when it's a debilitating disease and/or results in loss of life within a few years.

Dude, I'm confused (not surprising) - I just quickly scanned it. So, isn't Sarah saying that ALS could actually be Lyme disease?
But, then she goes on to downplay that there are neurotoxin issues...and detoxing is helpful?

I guess I should take the time to read it all.. tongue

Sarah is a long time cantankerous contrarian. She has had lots of ornery interactions with many folks, some of whom go away with a very sour taste in their mouth. She does put out some good info, but also some info that is questionable at best.

That's the person who I was planning to buy c60 from. I knew the name sounded familiar. She had an article about Clif High promoting an expensive brand of c60. Her price seems good and I cant see anything that would make me want to spend more elsewhere.

C60 is giving lab rats cancer left and right, you might want to reconsider. Read the C60 forum on longecity, its very well informed.

This is the first negative news Ive heard on C60. I heard it was an anti aging super antioxidant. I will take a a second look where you suggested. Thanks.

Seems its a one off case of a mishandled damaged batch being used on already ill mice

http://www.longecity.org/forum/topic/87625-commercially-available-c60-olive-oil-causing-tumours/

ok there is another incident with a dog who got a tumor, but he used a home brew of it. Still reading.

It seems Sarah gets quoted commenting about this on page 3....

Interesting so far....Will continue reading in the morning....

there is a lab tech that posts on that forum that works with rats and C60 and has warned anyone off using it based on his findings in his lab. He posts as Kmoody, he is in this thread

There has been enough presented in these threads to indicate that concerns about negative health effects are valid ones and of a serious nature. As you suggested it might be prudent to wait for more data to emerge. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Found this PubMed report which indicates nanotoxicity of C60. Just though I should follow up with this heads up. Thank you Lapis for alerting me to the possibility of toxicity. I am no longer considering this product. It does appear there is more evidence for concern than I was aware of.

A large-scale association study for nanoparticle C60 uncovers mechanisms of nanotoxicity disrupting the native conformations of DNA/RNA:

Of course discretion must be used as to not rely on Medical Publications as the final word in this day an age as indicated here:

Skeptical of medical science reports?

I saw this thread before but didn't pay much mind. Today, I clicked on the thread link to Vaughter's site and read the article and comments. Wow!! She is cantankerous for sure.

My impression of her is she's a desperate woman trying to protect the notion that long term high dose antibiotics is THE ONLY way to treat Lyme, as she apparently was still on them after 13 years at the time of that article and felt they were a necessity for her. Then further down, she said she's still in pain even with the antibiotics. She also seems to think that ICU herxes are to be expected. Additionally, she thinks Bartonella is nothing and Lyme is everything. She discredits many well known figures and calls them quacks making unsubstantiated claims, yet she seems to be doing likewise. She provided no links to proper scientific evidence substantiating her claims. That writing seems pretty clear that she's built up her own theories about why she's been so sick for so long and she's now stuck in that mindset. That was really old 2012. Hopefully something has changed for her since.
