Has anyone had abnormal heart issues relating to V-tach? For years I was diagnosed with SVT. It didn't bother me unless I took cold medication with dextromethorphan in it. Two years ago I started having what felt like inflammation around the heart. I had this on and off last winter and again this winter, along with palpitations every day. Then I started developing chest pain along with the burning and palpitations, so I went to the cardiologist for a third time in two years. The EKG was essentially normal but the holter monitor showed "V-tach" instead of SVT. I see some online information about lyme and V-tach but not sure if I'm just trying too hard to connect the dots. I started taking wild oregano oil and the palpitations completely stopped and chest pain has subsided substantially. I'm scheduled to see an electrophysiologist but I'm just thinking this is a lyme-related issue...anyone have the same??

How long have you been treating lyme now?

You will need to look into the coinfections - bartonella and babesia.

They can also cause heart problems.

Yes, Lyme and/or coinfections can invade the heart and cause symptoms.

Do you have a LLMD?

I had a lot of cardiac symptoms. Racing heart. Palpitations. Pounding heartbeat. Fast heartbeat at rest. Sharp pains in the center of my chest. The only tests the cardiologists ever did was EKG (normal), echocardiogram, a stress test without contrast after the pains in the center of my chest, and a blood test for bacteria that can affect the heart. The only diagnoses I was given was mitral valve regurge, and later, prolapse in addition.

Even as a child, I had an unusually high heart rate all the time. Physical exertion causes my heart rate to jump very quickly. When I had the stress test, it took very little time or exertion to reach the target level. I'm sure a really good cardiologist would know that wasn't normal and dig deeper.

A couple years ago when I was actively monitoring my blood pressure and pulse, my heart rate was usually in the upper 80's to 90's most of the time when asymptomatic and up to 125 when symptomatic.

I have lots of bartonella symptoms and have read in Buhner's bartonella book that any heart valve issues should be indicative of bartonella. Now if only doctors would learn what I've spent the last year learning.

Hawthorne tincture is protective of the heart per Buhner.

But be sure to rule out others causes with a cardiologist and always check for side effects and contradictions.

Having Lyme you should be getting regular thyroid checks, full panel not just a TSH and perhaps a reverse T3 as well.

Thanks for everyone's replies!

I'm kind of a newbie to forums - I'm not sure how to respond to people individually so I'm trying to reply to all the above:

To answer the above questions and replies, I am waiting for an appointment with a lyme doctor. I recently got three positive bands on the Western blot (...my cardiologist is saying I need 5 bands, blah blah). I have postive IGg markings for bands 23, 30, and 45. I know 23 is borrellia and I suspect other infections.

As far as an LLMD, I was very grateful to have received a listing from another member on here for lyme literate doctors in my area (northern NJ). I made an appointment with an infectious disease dr. in the area for next month who is well known for treating lyme. It seems all the lyme literate doctors on the list I received do not accept any insurance. Unfortunately in my area (northern NJ) it seems most lyme specialists do not take insurance and I'm not really sure I can afford to pay out of pocket. Is that how many lyme literate doctors are, they don't take insurance? I'm a little concerned about the cost...

I did have a very high TSH last year and didn't make the connection; it was right at the time I felt I had mono...I did another detailed post on all my symptoms so I won't get into all that here. My thyroid is back to normal now (or it was at the time of my last test last month).

Interesting, I also had a very high heart rate as a child and gym teachers were alarmed. It is slightly elevated now and all this time I was told I had SVT so I'm thrown off by the recent V-Tach (and suspect it's from lyme).

Thanks for the info. about the Hawthorne tincture. Will try that! Was just learning about the Buhner protocol. I am a little confused about what protocol to use because I also have Morgellons and am trying to get rid of that first and using another protocol for that. (Yes, Morgellons is really a thing...it's somehow related to lyme but still a mysterious thing and I don't want to go into details here...I'm on another website for that support because I don't see a lot of people on here with Morgellons too.) Thanks again for everyone's help!
