Hi all.
I recently had my VEGF tested. Previously it was normal but now it's low. I have been treating for Bartonella but realize that a high VEGF is indicative of Bartonella and I've never been high. My C4a is elevated. Could my VEGF go low because of treating for a co-infection that never existed? Could it be bio/endotoxins? Or maybe Babesia? Not sure what to think of this. Thank you for any info you can give.

Low VEGF with elevated C4a is indicative of MOLD.

Thank you. Can it cause muscle fatigue, burning, and nervous system issues?

If by "it" you mean mold, yes, it can cause much of the same symptoms as Lyme.

Gracious. Ok. Time to look into it I suppose. I do have ERMI cloths. Probably good to send in and have tested. I assume I probably had mold and when Lyme came this was activated? I didn't seem to have much of an issue before all this. Although I would get headaches easy and my head struggled with draining... Like lymph. My neck and back muscles would get so tight that i needed my hubby to massage just a little too get it to drain and then my headache would go away. Trying to understand the components and timeline. Thank you for the information.

Yes. Doing the ERMI is a good idea. Have you had the HLA-DR genetic test? That can help you figure out what you are susceptible to.

The symptoms you just mentioned here sounds like bartonella to me.

It's easy to get overwhelmed with all this, as it really is very complex. However, don't get discouraged by it. It takes time to connect the dots to see your big picture and everybody's picture is a little different. For me, I have the HLA-DR Lyme gene and one of the multi susceptible genes. I believe I've had the Lyme/co all my life and that long term exposure to mold along with age and other factors coming together triggered the chronic symptoms for me.

I did have the HLA-DR gene test but have not heard the results yet. Tried to figure it out myself but not sure how well I did with it also the calculator I didn't even attempt. I believe I may have come back with a Mold susceptible gene but I may have switched the #'s too. I wouldn't be surprised if I was exposed to mold, I believe the older part of our house has it in it. I am being treated for Bartonella with Levaquin but as I mentioned the VEGF is low. It's so confusing! I want to make sure I'm not wasting my time treating something when it is something else completely. Mold has always been in the back of my mind but I need someone to relay the information I guess. Waiting for the next appt is not fun.
