I lived on chicken and green leafy salad when my gut was bothering me the most - I had gut candida too.

No sugar, low to no grain carbs, no bread at on candida diet.
Had initial lyme symptoms late 80's, then again and with bullseye early 90's. Ended ABX for Lyme in 2015. Rebuilding / fine tuning / fixing muscles since then; member "10 Percenters Lyme Club". What an adventure this has been. Hashimotos adds to the enjoyment.

My LL practitioner wants me on s GF, DF, sugar free diet.

Fat isn’t restricted.

I do limit the bad fats though - no margarine, no shortening ..
I use mostly olive oil and butter for cooking.

My dinners are usually a big salad with olive oil, vinegar dressing with a little honey drizzled on top plus some meat.

I am GF now for two weeks - going to eliminate dairy next (I haven’t given up cheese yet ) and will remove sugar last. (Hardest for me because I have a sweet tooth)
I will still eat fruit though,

Girlie- GF was only a matter of time.! At least you know how. Bark and grass.mm, yummy.

I miss real beer more than anything.

I've never liked beer...so I don't miss it..

Well, I don't notice anything being on GF. I did it once before - when first diagnosed...for several months...didn't feel any difference.

But, going to give it another whirl.

Yup, I certainly know how.
Chicken and salad dinners ... once in awhile I will have gluten free waffles...but will have to substitute the milk with something else.

I find vegetable curry’s filling and they are healthy, bit of olive oil, cumin seeds, vegetable of choice, salt, garlic ginger turmeric a few chillies a bit of water and let it cook, with brown rice.

I don’t eat meat so I eat chick peas and lentils for my protein, I’m terrible though I have a sweet tooth so cave in and eat a bit of chocolate sometimes and I love salt and vinegar crisps too!!😱

I had a real beer tonight.
It tasted delicious.
It didn't contain any alcohol though ;)

How is it real if it didnt contain alcohol? You mean "near beer", like O-Dules non-alcoholic malt beverage?

They do have "gluten removed" alcohol beer, which is way better and different than "glutan free" beer. And much more $$$. Its still a candida magnet though sad

You may want to look at “Sami’s”. Millet and flax bread. I’ve been using it for over five years. It’s very tolerable toasted. Very very low in sugars and gluten free. Can you tolerate almond butter?
