I have been reading about these two contrasting statements. What are your thoughts/experiences?

Sugar free, then half their food is gone.

Candida dines on sugar and carbs.

Animal fat is not on their menu. Where did you read about fat-candida connection??
Had initial lyme symptoms late 80's, then again and with bullseye early 90's. Ended ABX for Lyme in 2015. Rebuilding / fine tuning / fixing muscles since then; member "10 Percenters Lyme Club". What an adventure this has been. Hashimotos adds to the enjoyment.

No sugar, LOW carbs - you need some carbs otherwise you'll start blacking out or feel faint. Watch the fruit intake too. It's a LONG LONG LONG battle. Might as well cut out wheat while you're at it.

This you tube link is somewhat false in pertaining to candida and is taken out of context. I know what they are talking about - but its NOT the way to elminate candida.

To say candida is the way our body consumes extra blood glucose is backwards. If this were true, diabetes would not happen. Letting candida flourish can kill you.

Extra blood glucose should not be there to begin with, that's what insulin is for.

In a person with healthy working insulin response, the insulin helps muscles to use blood sugar. In an impared insulin response, with less insulin, the sugar wont get used. That is diabetes, and there are obviously different levels of it.

Now, one way smart people with near diabetes can eat is to not eat sugar with red meat fat. I have even stated this here before.

New information says fat can block sugar receptors, then glucos can rise in the blood.

OK, but to counter act that:

You eat fruit first alowing insulin and sugar receptors to do its job, muscles use the blood sugar as fuel, then eat fat a while after (dont go overboard though).

If you are diabetic, then fat is worse.

You took antibiotics for Candida?
Did you mean Anti-Fungal (Diflucan)?

Yes

Candida is very difficult to get rid of.
I had tried so many ways and know people who have spent years unsuccessfully trying to starve it out.

And
You are correct I took diflucan as well.

I tried everything but think it’s gone now

What antibiotic in particular did you use?

I’ve not heard of using abx to treat Candida - how would that work when the Candida is a fungal infection?

And it’s often antibiotic use that causes the overgrowth to begin with.
