I believe that babesia is my biggest issue and have been hitting it hard for several months with coartem, clindamycin, primaquine, and herbals. I no longer really herx from treatments, except for slight air hunger after coartem. I have also been feeling 90% lately, and in general, only feel excessively bad if on meds. In the past, I have had extreme herxes from both flagyl and CSA, and both times I experienced severe cognitive issues as well as knee pain.
Last Sunday, I started taking CBD oil. Started out with 20mg under my tongue. The next day, I experienced many of the cognitive symptoms I generally associate with babesia herxing. I thought it could have been from the coartem, so I continued CBD for the next two nights. By Wednesday, I felt AWFUL. Worse than I've felt in months. Depersonalization, brain fog, inability to read, etc. I stopped CBD on Thursday and have been detoxing heavily with saunas and IV glutathione, but I still feel awful.
I believe 1 of 3 things could have happened:
1) Had a delayed herx from some other babesia medicine. In general, I herx the same day as taking treatment, so I doubt this
2) I am herxing from CBD, but why it is causing babesia symptoms, I am not sure
3) CBD suppressed my immune system, and the infection strengthened. I have not heard of this happening, but have read papers saying that CBD can lower immune function. It should be noted that this is far worse than I felt before starting meds.
The only other thing of interest is that when I first got sick, I had a lot of PVCs (irregular heartbeats) These went away even prior to starting treatment. However, I tried CBD one night, and the next morning I had PVCs again, and these have not gone away since. I had not put the two together until now.
I am in a bad spot and would love to hear any advice you guys have. Thanks!!!
