Hi all, Im back, after 3 really crazy days...
And now, Im really confused what to do...

Because, in this monday evening (6th day on Cowden) comes digestive problems...and night from monday to tuesday was one of my craziest nights of my life (in the wrong sense) :-/
Massive sickness, vomiting, diarrhea...and 3 hours on toilet...massive exhaustion...call ambulance - hospital.
This was crazy...first 5 days OK...and 6th...BOOM! And I dont know why...and whether it was caused by Cowden?

somewhere I read about breaking biofilms...

But, Im also on Normix and Mesalazine for my leaky gut (15 days - and without problem) and I have also intolerance on lactose (little bit of milk was in my dinner, but I have never had such a reaction like this!)

Now I do not know how to continue, I do not know what was the trigger...Cowden - Banderol? or anythink else? Any combination of everything? allergic reaction?

I would like this reaction to be a good news about my lyme treatment..hope so!!!

please, let me know yours experiences...
this was really huge crash! one of biggest in my life...

thank a lot for help and wish all best for everyone!

Martin

Sorry to hear this MartinK.

Sounds absolutely horrible.

First of all - don't take any milk - not worth the risk.

Then, I would start back on Cowden with lower dosages...a lot lower.
See how you respond. Like a few drops..

Is it possible you had a flu bug...or food poisoning? Maybe the milk could have caused that?

I'm truly sorry. I don't have experience with Cowden or gut issues like yours, but I just wanted to say that I'm really truly sorry that you went through that and are still going through it. I truly hope you can find answers. Wishing you the very best!
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.

something about herxes with Cowden is HERE: https://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=3476639

But, Im still hope for another experiences from users with Cowden.
I think I'll start slowly again with detoxifying herbs..for some next days.

That doesn't sound like a herx to me,.. maybe an allergic reaction or something else?

I found banderol to be very watered down. I doubt it caused all of that.

make sure the hospital doctors run all the possible tests on you to determine there is nothing else wrong with you.

if you do get a "clean" health bill then yes that was a herx and yes it is good news for you, it means you:
a) have lyme, in case you were still not 100% sure
b) you've hit it hard and with the right treatment. congrats.
c) you will feel much better in time, when the infection levels drop and your immune system calms down. it's not gonna be any time soon, but you are on the right path

this is of course valid if there is nothing else wrong with you. every time when you have bad reactions like these and end up in hospital , you must make sure there is nothing else going on.

i have had episodes like this in the past, during treatment, and yes several days are OK then BANG it hits you. the reasons for this delayed explosion of symptoms , especially for chronic patients, is complex:
a) after years of infection , the lyme bacteria hides in tissues not in the blood and when you start a new treatment, the tissue drug/herb level is growing but not as fast as the blood levels, so it takes time to build up to a toxic level for the spirochetes to start to die
b) your detox systems keep cleaning up the dead bacteria and toxins for a while and are not immediately overwhelmed. but when they are, you feel this like a sledgehammer

please do let us know how you feel, we sure hope this was a herx and not other health problem.

Hi all!
thanks for your support! Im really happy from it!

I wanted more tests at the hospital, but they were not able to do them to me...it was our local hospital and this personal is not profesional in my eyes.
everything is problem, everything is harassment - this is look of those doctors and sisters.
Sad...

But, Im at home and feel better!
My gut is better (no perfect), I start more diet - SCD diet (because I have a SIBO...and leaky gut, from prof. De Deirleir tests)

next week I go to my immune doctor here in Czech, he is fine, I will talk about this story.

Now I start Cowden with smaller dose - Im back on the day of Support program, when I was OK.
Its a second day with "Microbial defense" herbs.

This first reaction was really huge! I do not remember anything simmilar on ATBX protocols in past.
This is my 5th year with Lyme, but first with herbal treatment.
Next week I will start HBOT.

I think it will be important to detoxify a lot!!!

And...yes, it was herx of alergic reaction, nothing else - I feel really better now!
if you want, here are my last results with my problems - Lyme and leaky gut, sibo...
