Hello my fellow lymies,

Today is just one of those 100% symptom free days for me. And as I have more and more of these days consistently over the 2 years of slowly but surely recovering from lyme, I had to remind myself to never stop appreciating these days.

To not take them for granted. To always remember of how bad it was and could be. Even though a week or a month from now I'll have a string of not the best days, that just means to enjoy these symptom free days that much more.

Even for recovering lymies we can start to take them for granted after we reach a certain level of healed.

Also, when you get to this level of healed where you can experience multiple symptom free days consistently don't forget to give YOURSELF a standing ovation.

Because it was YOU that never gave up in the roughest and darkest hours of lyme. It was YOU that found the will to fight. It was YOU that powered through paralyzing depression and anxiety (and 100 other symptoms). It was YOU that studied and researched all the different ways to heal. It was YOU that spent all that money. It was YOU that power through herxes (sometimes crippling). It was YOU that fell many times but got back up. And it was YOU that showed great patience that recovering from lyme is a marathon and not a race.

This is wonderful.

Sometimes a post like this is all I need to make it through the next few trials.

We can do this!

I met with a friend that also has lyme a couple of weeks ago for dinner. He ate a gluten free pizza and I decide to make it my cheat meal for the week.

Anywho, he asked me a paradoxical question. He asked after I told him how I have become a smarter person (with science, nutrition, health, etc), in the best physical shape of my life (ironically) and mentally tougher and become a more centered and even keeled person. Because of lyme.

He asked if I could go back in time and never get lyme would I do it. It was actually a tough question to answer. It was tough because I am a "better" overall person because of the experience.

I answered "depends". If I can stay at 90-95%+ free from lyme symptoms for the rest of my life, with an occasional mild fare up here or there that was short lived (pretty much how things are now), then "no", I wouldn't go back in time.

However because lyme can crash at any moment, it's tough to say "no" without that caveat.

To keep the inspirational theme going. I want to post this youtube link:

I think this is relevant to what we all been through or going through battling and recovering from lyme.
