Hi everyone,

I was dxed with Lyme about 15 months ago. Since my dx, many issues have improved, though not 100%. For 5 years I had chronic bacterial and yeast infections and would get bouts of feeling like i had the flu, but with peripheral neuropathy and no fever. Eventually figured out it was lyme by llmd, did 1 month of abx and transitioned to herbal stuff. My yeast and bv issues reduced significantly and I, knock on wood, haven't had another weird bout of lyme recurrance symptoms.

I do still have the following problems which may or may not be related and wonder if others experience similar problems and what you've done.

1) I am pretty sure I have liver flukes and poss other parasites. Whenever I take antiparastic herbals, I get super bloated and gassy. I also get constipated. It's miserable. When I add a product that is recommended to move stuff through, called Lower Bowel balance (LBB), I get the stuff out - often diarrhea like- and the bloating goes down...and with that, I get some nasty looking stuff and what really looks like liver flukes. Have others had this issue? I've been on barefoot dewormer for many months and this still continues. I also started using his liver/gallbladder cleanse as I sometimes get an ache in the liver area. I tried a liver flush years ago and HATED it, and would prefer to not again but would if it's absolutely necessary.

2) I have an extremely low sex drive and weak to pleasureless orgasms. It feels like I've always had this problem but I've prob had lyme for like 10 years b4 dx (I'm 34). I also have addisons disease which I've had since age 12. I thought for a while the AD was why, but I've taken dhea, pregnenalone, testosterone, and tried various herbs, creams, and suppositories - i even did pelvic PT, all to no avail. Does anyone else have this issue? Anything that helps? My orgasms can only happen when I apply tons of pressure and they SUCK (1/10 on a scale). If i use a vibrator it feels like I'm having one without any pleasure (0/10). I feel vaginal contractions but no pleasure. Its like my brain isn't working or something. I also don't crave sex with other people. I have considered that maybe I'm asexual but don't want to assign thst label if it can be fixed. I've just tried so hard to fix it with all sorts of supps, etc and have fsiled.

Also, to note, I currently take LB core protocol which has lyme herbs, the LBB I mentioned, the dewormer/parasite stuff, a high dose probiotic, and colostrum, in addition to thyroid meds and my addisons meds (on for life).

Any thoughts on the above or recommendations are appreciated !

The sex drive issues may be due to hormone issues.
You could go to a bioresonance practitioner sometimes they can pick up imbalances and allergies that can through hormones off balance. They can also confirm parasites.
I do think you are right about liver flukes. I got them from eating prawns and 6 weeks later I had some liver pain. It got worse over time as none of my tests and scans picked up any abnormality. I just started taking parasites herbs and seeing liver flukes. But they are hard to get rid of and you need to take the remedy for quite some time. Stopping too early and you end up with a full blown infection in 6 weeks = they are that efficient at messing with your health.
Stay away from shellfish = liver flukes and canned small fish - anisakis simplex.
Its low stomach acid that is the main contributing factor. Check for stomach ulcers, adrenal issues and bile deficiency. These can be contributing factors along with liver and thyroid problems which you know you have. A liver herbal cleanse willhelp. Taking apple cider vinegar and ginger will help with stomach acid. The ayurveda product Trikatu helps as well. If you can take it betain HCL is good for immediate support.
all the best

jabele, sorry you are not feeling pleasure from what should. I sometimes feel diminished pleasure or can't orgasm. I take trazodone and bupropion (generic wellbutrin) to counteract the side effect of anhedonia, anorgasma. Trazodone is for sleep but it has the side effect of anorgasmia and so a low dose bupropion for a bit more sex drive. I am single so I don't really think of it as being asexual. But the Wellbutrin (generic name Bupropion) may be an artificial way of getting pleasure, it is well known to produce more sex drive, for women or to counteract psych meds anorgasmia.

But having said that, we are all trying to get our bodies to a healthy state to where we feel good feelings again, healing, sometimes diet and exercise can help if you can change it (many of us have stopped exercising almost completely so that may not be something you can do just yet).

Other than that, about the parasites I have an iffy de-worming recipe of olive oil or honey tablespoon and just a few drops of terpentine mixed in, it's an old folk remedy and people still do it, but I would research it first. I've done it and it seems to have cleared something out but I can't tell you to try it or not.

And last, about diet, think of everything you eat as literally food for the bugs inside you too. Cabbage becomes lactobacillus and many other salad, fresh vegs, greens can starve the parasites if you can avoid processed foods and sugars.

I'm weak sometimes so I eat poorly too, but you get the idea.

Is it a side effect of the Addison’s meds? Both antidepressants and birth control destroyed my sexual function, but after a few months of getting off them (with naturopathic support), everything is peachy (except Lyme destroying my body and chronic yeast infections, so there’s no time to use this newfound peachyness). Of course I didn’t really know it since I’d been on them since I was a teenager. Just knew there HAD to be something more to it
Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella. Symptoms began 5/2016, didn't start treatment until 9/2016. Slow but steady recovery.

Thank you ALL! So many good suggestions. I appreciate you all taking the time to share.

A few questions on things that were suggested:

BlueLyme -- I'm interested in some of your ideas. Tell me more about the nerve repair path you took, and what the outcome was. Was it expense? What impact did it have? Funny you should mention the O-shot-- my LLMD mentioned it yesterday to me, but I read it hasn't been proven to work. That will prob be the last thing I try but I'm open to anything.

ArtAngel -- the bioresonance therapy sounds really cool. Can you tell me more about that? Have you done it?? Did it help?

Yeah sure, bioresonance machines can pick up all the electromagnetic frequencies in your body. A body in perfect harmony with itself has frequencies for balance, when out of harmony the body has frequencies for imbalance. It can pick up and name pathogens of any kinds, organ stress, imbalances and even allergies. The machine will give you according to priorities what imbalances are there for you. Usually you pay no more than you would for a naturpathic appointment and you get so much insight into what is going. Treatments by bioresonance work too but I use it mainly for diagnosis. Look for electrodermal screening bioresonance in your area. Naturopaths have these machines and there are practitioners of other kinds who use them. You want someone well qualified. It is what I am using as a guide for self treating. I live in Australia very few naturopaths know anything about lyme let alone how to treat it and the Doctors are the same.

Blue - who is your fluke testing guy? I am on alinia BTW

I often see oval shaped debris in bowel movement or after a coffee enema...visible to the naked eye, how is it that you guys suspect flukes?

Thanks

jabele - that place looks good - good luck with everything
doors - The diagnosis for clonorchis sinensis showed up in a bioresonance as my primary concern, way over my lyme which was still untreated at that time. I looked up pictures on the net for liver flukes (c. sinensis) and they matched what i saw in my stools and after enemas.
You are making a good choice doing the enemas I used them as a way of identifying the magnitude of the infection and the progress I was making with it. You can even spot the eggs too. When you start to notice the parasites are gone still carry on for a few more months, you want every last trace to be gone. Then do some follow up enemas to check you haven't picked up anything. Given it takes considerable time and money to get rid of a full blown infection this is something that you can use to make sure the gut is as healthy as you are hoping it will be.
