I just got a referral to infectious disease from my primary. My immunoblot was positive with four reactions but not "cdc" positive. I'm wanting to start the buhner protocol now, before I see infectious disease. Does anyone know if that will effect future Lyme tests? My thoughts are that it might help my body make more antibodies so I end up with a cdc positive. Any thoughts on this?
I'm wanting to start before I see them because I'm having a lot of neurological symptoms this week and I'm terrified. I can't just do nothing. I have nerve pain, numbness, tingling, imbalanced when I walk/stumbling, shooting pains in my head, severe memory issues and the fatigue is the worst it's ever been. I lose train of thought in normal conversations. My joint pain is flaring on and off. And my eyes are bothering me.

Also I'm aware that infectious disease is likely to give me antibiotics for a few weeks and call me healed, and since I'm lacking money to see an llmd the herbal protocol will be what I use afterwards.

Hi kalymika!

Sorry to hear of your neurological symptoms.. It's so frightening. From what I've researched I do believe treatment can cause your body to "wake up" and launch an attack which results in making more antibodies. I'm not positive, as I'm new to this lyme world too.

Your symptoms are almost identical to how my journey started in August 2017. Do you feel like you're on a boat trying to walk? Do you have leg weakness at all? Or a feeling of loss of leg coordination? What about vibration feeling in your feet/legs?

I'm very sorry, but am happy you have found the right path and can work towards feeling better now.

I have some leg weakness. I had muscle and nerve testing in 2016 that showed slight decline in my leg muscles. I have lots of coordination that comes and goes. I don't have vibration in get but they intermittently go numb. I went gluten free after a neuro work up in 2016 because my ttg igg was slightly elevated and my symptoms have been better since then. Still there off and on until last October. I am excited to know what this is finally, but terrified at the same time.

Try not to be terrified. I am new to lyme as well... but I feel the power of the mind is huge. We can, and we will get better. I have talked to so many people that have recovered ie remission... It's doable - it's just a long road. But, we have already done the most challenging part - getting properly diagnosed!

They mind is powerful. I'm actually working on a vision board to help me focus on my future and health. A lot of my fear revolves around being a single mom with no family nearby. I'm working on focusing on the support system I do have. I think my brain is just overwhelmed right now. I'm in school and had my five year plan down and now I'll have to put off my licensing for at least an extra year or more while I heal. Letting go of control is difficult.
