I am really at a loss as to how to proceed. I think I have Lyme, but have not tested positive previously and am due to find out later today if new testing says something different. Have come back positive for mold, metals, EBV and parasites. My insomnia is through the roof, still, my vitamin B-12 and glutathione are both high and my recent blood work came back with elevated platelets and RBW and low hemoglobin, hematocrit MCV, MCHC and MCH. I am going to a good functional medicine doctor, who I will be see shortly today, but not sure he really understands that if I am not able to detox appropriately, nothing really changes, regardless of whether it is Lyme, metals, mold or anything else. I have gone to infrared saunas 5 times now and sweat hardly a drop. I am not sure what is going on and the lack of sleep makes it even more difficult to concentrate. If I have chronic EBV, which my testing says I have, there are no symptoms of that. My main issues really sound more like parasites/mold/metals as the non stop insomnia, weight loss resistance and anxiety. Am taking Lauricidin and herx from that, so it must be getting at something. Anyway, I know that I am rambling, but wondering if there is a type ofdoctor who does MTHFR/CBS analysis? All I see are naturopaths, and they are rarely covered by insurance.

Thanks and sorry for the incoherence.

These two are pretty common. You can probably do just as good a job as Dr by googling these. Its very rare to find an insurance acceping Dr who "does" genes.

If you have a local lyme facebook group- they might know someone.

Regarding MTHFR/CBS, the following thread has some resources that might be helpful to you and/or your doctor(s):

Also, I was just reading the comments on the following page and a couple of them cite some disagreement with Dr. Yasko on one or two points:

The commenters (not doctors or healthcare providers, as far as I can tell) mention Dr. Ben Lynch as another resource. In the second link above, there is an embedded YouTube video by Dr. Ben Lynch. So, perhaps that will prove informative, too. I haven't watched it.

Finally, the Dr. Yasko resources I shared in the first link above originated from forum member Georgia Hunter. In that link, you will see some of his comments that I included. I would weigh his actual experience against those commenters from the second link above. I'm not saying that anyone is either "all right" or "all wrong." Rather, most things aren't so black-and-white. Not everything works for everyone. And, what works for one today might stop working next week, next month, or next year.

Good luck in your endeavors,

The Dude

With your multiple issues, I would go see Dr Simon Yu in St Louis. He isn't specifically a Lyme physician so I'll mention his name.
