I started taking A-Bart and it's producing a very extreme herx. I've been treating bart with Isatis and Houttuynia for ~6 months. I've read past posts that said A-Bart causes bad herxing but didn't help symptoms in a few people. Does anyone have any experiences/insight about A-Bart?

I know somebody who was doing really poorly on abx - just getting sick and sicker - with the doctors throwing more abx his way. Years of sickness and then unable to work. He switched doctors, and the new doctor eventually took him off abx. The new doctor put him on treatment for MACS, mold, and herbals (specifically A-Bart and adrenal support). He is now doing really well - much much much better than his prior treatment with abx.

I haven't used the Byron White formulas personally (much) but have been wanting to rotate those in. I do have the A-FNG that I recently started, but due to illness in the house, we stopped for unrelated reasons -- but I will be starting back on it again personally.

I think Byron White formulas is something I very much want to try with my kids. I have heard good things about them, but as with anything, people's responses will vary.
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.

I had really good results with symptoms (my rash got lighter), but I felt like one long continuous herx, and I just couldn't stand it anymore.

Here's what I have in my A-Bart file:\ copied from somewhere years ago.

Primary Provoking Action of A-BART:

• This herbal formula is designed to activate the immune system in acute and chronic the Bartonella infections.
• It is equally effective for Bartonella Like Organisms (BLO).
• It can be useful in the management of Borrelia, other co-infections and opportunistic pathogens.

Secondary Provoking Actions of A-BART:

Bartonella infections are thought to be more common that Borrelia infections. We know the tick borne infection come in groups. A-Bart has been engineered to act on the accompanying co-infections and opportunistic infections. It has action against the Borrelia, Babesia and Mycoplasma species. A-BART will have an immune modulating effect for the patient with chronic infections. It will have some immune activation against fungal, viral, and parasite.

• The synergistic herbal combination acts specifically on the nervous system helping with pain, anxiety, sleep, headache and restlessness.
• The formula balances Serotonin and other neurotransmitters helping the patient to deal with depression, insomnia and pain.
• A-Bart is designed to improve the detox pathways. As with all neurotoxins, methylation is slow and lymphatic flow is congested. This formula is designed to enhance the binding and excretion of toxins through the system.
• Auto immunity can be improved as A-Bart works to reduce inflammation, decreases congestion and improves circulation.
• This combination helps with muscle spasm, joint pain, hypertension, hypotension, digestive difficulties, gastritis, ulcers, sore glands, and sore throat, diarrhea and blood sugar difficulties.
• It has a tonifying effect on the GI tract, liver, lung and lymphatic systems.
• The nature of the herbs and their combined anti-bartonella, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, vermafuge, antiviral, anti-spirochete, anti-malarial, and anti-Candida benefits allow the agents to be driven deep into other tissue. This synergistic nature of the herbs allows them to reach and renew tissue that would otherwise not be reached.
• Patients with Bartonella can have compromised digestion and thus inadequate nutrition. This herbal combination provides nutrients in a form that is easily digestible. It is rich in B1, Vit C, Niacin, Iron, Potassium, protein, Beta-sitosterol, calcium, chromium, Cobolt, Gaba, Epsilon-sitoterol, magnesium, magnesium, parigemin, phosphorus, pollinastanol. Selenium, silicon and dietary fiber.
• This formula helps the biosynthesis of cholesterol.
• Helps restore neurotransmitter balance, restoring sleep, memory, concentration and mood.

It has historically been used as an anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-spirochete, anti-septic, diaphoretic, diuretic, expectorant and heavy metal chelator. It supports liver detox and decreases LDL cholesterol. It is a cardiovascular tonic, helps with the biosynthesis of fatty acids phospholipids and acts as an anti-clotting agent.

I've been on A-Bart for about 9 months now, still working up to the 20 drop full dose. Yes, herxing can be bad, but I've learned how to manage it best for me. Start with only ONE drop twice a day. If that is too much, apply the drop between your toes instead of orally for a while, waiting to increase until you can handle it orally. Increase by one drop every one-two weeks as tolerated. For me, I do best increasing every two weeks by taking my current dosage orally and then putting the additional drop between my toes for 2-3 days, adding the additional drop orally after this transition. This seems to ease the transition and reduce the herxing significantly. I do plan things out so that when I add the new drop in orally I do it the night before a day when it's ok if I'm not feeling 100%.

I used A-Bart for a couple months and felt like I was on a continuous herx as well. All the bart symptoms just ramped up a bit adding only 1 drop would be noticeable. I never managed to get beyond 8 drops 1x day. This was before we are actually targeting bart with abx. Now that I am I'm thinking about adding it back in again.

I've been on A-BART for 8 months. I ramped it up fast, and I've been doing 80 drops a day (40 x2) for 4 months.

Before starting A Bart, I was already in a continuous herx and nearly completely useless as a person, so I had little to lose.

Since starting A Bart, I have experienced daily herxes, that have lessened over time.

In the beginning of A Bart, I was bedridden with physical symptoms and anxiety for a few months. After I achieved the 80 drops per day, things began leveling out. I slowly became able to do simple chores, slowly became able to resume all household duties and pay all bills, slowly learned how to drive again, and am now looking forward to starting work again soon. All this over an 8 month period.

I would like to think that becoming more and more normal while maintaining such a high dose of A-BART is a sign that I'm improving and winning the battle smile

With all that said, I believe that A-BART is a wonderful tool. But do pace yourself and listen to your body. Being bedridden is not good, so if you do still have a life that you are able to maintain, go slow with the A-BART...but expect great things smile

Are you all using distilled water for the BW tinctures? I am "taking" A-bart, a-bab, and A-L complex but have been using tap water for all of them. I heard you are supposed to be using distilled. I've been on a super long break from all of these lyme medications because of treatment fatigue but this thread inspired me to put 4 drops of each in a glass of water that I'm about to take. I lost faith in the BW formulas and all lyme treatment but it's nice to hear that people are getting better (and herxing off the a-bart which I definitely get).

I just use our normal tap water (untreated from a natural spring on our property).

I think the distilled water recommendation demonstrates thr "most perfect" method of taking the avoid any and all possible contaminants.
