Are small amounts of fruit ok?

I feel i need to eat at least a little fruit for vit c.. Is 1 clementine and 1 green apple a day ok? Anyone else eat just a little fruit a day?
Tried abx and iv abx for 2 yrs, now trying herbs; Chronic Tonic (bottled) CSA formula, JK, Houttunia, Andrographis, Cats Claw, Oil of Oregano
Sx Aug '13-
Extreme fatigue, dizziness, head pressure, 1 seizure, ringing ears, crawling sensations everywhere, throat pain, groin pain, very cold hands/feet, joint pain, sole pain, body/muscle spasms, teeth/gum pain, constipation, depression, panic attacks

Green apples and dark color berries are probably the best fruits with lowest sugar content, but take in moderation. If you are looking to keep up your Vit C in-take, maybe try Ester-C or another top brand supplement. Just my 2 cents.

I think kiwi and pineapple are the top notch fruits to use, at least when you read information about candida, fodmap or other diets.

I have them on my diet and they are fine for me. But if I eat other fruits like oranges or bananas or whatnot I get a reaction almost directly..

My LLMD is okay with berries but he advocates avoiding the hawaiian fruits due to high sugar content, which is bad for candida.
MTHTR single mutation; Positive Igenix IgG Jan 2017; March/Apr '17: doxy, Tinizadole. 5/1 samento and mino/tini. 5/28- back to doxy, added activated charcoal. 6/9 - stopped antibiox; staying with samento, red root and houttiya and supps. tried LDN; 8/24 rifampin, samento, red root and supps. On and off rifampin. 1/1/18 - 1/20 rifampin. Herbs and vitamins only now.

Personally, I don't restrict fruit. Then again, I have no reason to do so. I think you should always try to get vitamins/minerals from whole foods, rather than isolated supplements that are not the same as what's found in nature. But, again, it depends on your particular constitution and challenges. So, I would suggest trying a little fruit and not changing any other dietary components and see how you feel over the coming days. Keep a journal, if needed, as dietary recall is poor in most people. If you feel fine, try either a little more of the same fruit or perhaps a different fruit. Repeat the cycle. I suggest trying to become your own expert, as no one else really knows what your particular body needs.

I eat fruit, as well. I think the benefits - nutrients outweighs the negatives.


I'm not on a strict diet though...

I only eat small amounts of fruit in the summers but am restricted due to histamine issues. Apples, citrus fruits, watermelon are all out. Small amounts of blueberries, grapes or cantelope, i can handle

I eat fruit, oranges bananas and apples being the main ones and sometimes blueberries and pineapple. Yum!

I tried to cut most of it for Candida and even more for histamine issues; but I still got Candida. So I have max 1 serving of low histamine fruit a day. I needed the fiber, and probably had TOO low blood sugar. The herxes and medication really control I feel, so I’m not too strict with fruit. You just have to go with how you feel. I wouldn’t be making a 5-fruit smoothie every morning.
Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella. Symptoms began 5/2016, didn't start treatment until 9/2016. Slow but steady recovery.

I try to eat my pomegranate every day as per Buhner's suggestion.
I can't believe nobody has mentioned the pomegranate yet. It's very important to Buhner. It's one of the basics in some of his protocols. Y'all don't eat the pomegranate?

I don't know where you live, but I don't often find pomegranates in my local grocery stores. I know I see them sometimes, but I never paid attention to what time(s) of the year they appear. However, I don't find them to be any more special that other fruits.

I put my herbs in pomegranate juice per Buhner, but I rarely eat pomegranate.

EDIT: He says in the bart protocol to drink throughout the day.

But he doesn't mention it in the Mycoplasma core protocol.


I don't have the Lyme or babs book to check.

I edited my post because I initial typed that BUhner just suggested putting the tinctures in the pom juice...but when I looked in my book, it did say to drink it all day long. (throughout the day)



I did buy it for awhile (the juice) but it's darn expensive - especially the organic.

I wonder what it says in the lyme and babs books - if he mentions it.

Yes I agree the pomegranate is way too expensive.
It shouldn't be more than a buck a piece.
