Hi everyone - thought I'd let you know that the last round of rifampin and now the Biopure really seems to have moved me up to 95% better from a year ago. I can't credit only those things, as I pulsed antibiox on and off and did Buhner's protocol for about 6 months also.

I'm also convinced diet plays a huge role for me. I feel much better when I avoid grains, cow dairy and nightshades. I don't drink much so alcohol hasn't been an issue for me. Last weekend when I was at a birthday party I gave in and ate the top of a couple slices of pizza. By the time I got home I had a headache, and that was followed by a day and a half of fatigue. By monday, I was back to my current "normal".

I also started on biotin, folate and tumeric, and I'm continuing Vits D3 and C. Probiotic and Great Lakes collegen too. Epsom baths, essential oils and dry brushing are part of my life now.

I do still get flares, mainly around the full moon, and sometimes I'll feel a twitch or tic here or there. But now that I'm 2/3 ramped up on biopure, my muscle pain is almost gone. Even the feet pain which has been my worse symptom. It's still there, as is the lower back pain, but they get better every day.

It's too early to say I'm "cured for now," but I feel good about this current path. Should mention I "only" have borreala and bart.

Thanks everyone! I still have a bad morning with the feet pain here and there, but I really think this final push will get me there.

I don't think diet affects everyone, but it definitely is a factor for me. I cheat here and there, but at least 90% of the time I try to stick to clean eating.

I also took heart after reading Jernigan's book (although older isn't dated). It helped me to change my mindset.

I knew from the start that IV antibiox and long-term antibiox were not the way I wanted to go. I had read Rawls and liked his idea of taking antibiox one month on one month off. He also stresses diet. i don't think I ended up following any specific plan, but took a little from each, and ended up with more antibiox than I'd hoped but still not that much. I don't know if I'll ever be 100%, but I would take what I have now compared to where I was.
