I just started using olmesartan (brand name BenicarĀ®) for reactivating VDR receptor.
Has anyone fixed their VDR using Benicar? How long does it take to see any kind of action/immune responses? What to expect?

Thanks

I know that has been discussed a few times on this forum...but I don't know if we've had anyone claiming good results.
Are you doing a version of the marshall Protocol and also taking minocycline with the benicar?

I am planning to use the good side of the protocol, of removing VDR block to restore innate immunity that's hijacked by intracellular infections and viruses. Discard the remaining side of keeping Vit D too low as they think it is bad. Without using antibiotics. Remove VDR block + natural anti-microbial/Lyme protocols. After trying to understand everything, I think I have a good sense of what is really happening inside the body. I feel very close the goal.

I'm just not sure about fixing VDR receptors... I felt better for maybe the first six months of doing the marshall protocol at a lose dose. But when I got to the recommended dose of benicar, it sent me into a horrible spiral of worsening symptoms (light sensitivity, chemical sensitivity, anxiety, etc.), and very dangerous low sodium and low blood pressure. Make sure you keep testing your sodium levels!

I'm sure fixing your VDR is a good idea-but I'm not sure how helpful it is or if benicar does anything. I did see reduction in my symptoms from avoiding bright lights, and keeping my bedroom totally dark definitely helped me sleep better, but I still have lyme, bartonella, and I'm just about as light sensitive as I was when I started.

My vitamin D is lower now than when I was jumping though hoops to lower it-not sure what that means. I wouldn't recommend this protocol because there is just not enough known about it. I think it is dangerous to assume that everything that they say is true.
