Recently my girlfriend woke up in the middle of the night with a low level fever and headache,(January 16, 2018) this symptoms vanished through the same day, but intestinal pain and diarrhea persisted up to a week after that. She went with his doctor and told her it was a parasite and prescribed her some medicine, soon after that the symptoms were gone.
This happened one month exactly after being near a tick area. (There hasnt been any sign of a rash or another skin disturbance) since then some symtoms have appear:
Lighthead and Dizziness (just 1 day)
Joint pain in right arm has been getting worse, but she blames it to playing a lot of tennis,
she have had pain before but since the possible exposure to ticks ive noticed the pain has increased.

All this symptoms appear normal to her, and all of them can be justified to another things rather than lyme, (expect for the initial fever). I have read a lot about Lyme and would like to have a opinion, since there has only been that and symptoms quickly dissapear i feel like im just being paranoind but at times i really think that i have to do something to make sure it isnt Lyme (Getting her blood tested)

Hi and welcome to our forum,

If you are interested i testing you could have it done through Igenix, you would need a MD or NP to sign off on the request.

DNA Connections is another lab and they dont require a signature as far as I know.

We do encourage all new members to read our "New to Lyme" start here thread at the top of the page. It has good info on Lyme, testing, symptoms and so much more.

You can also go to and there are treatment guidelines there and you may also do a physician search there.

We also can help if you need to find an Lyme literate MD. You would have to enable your email in your profile. Then you would start a new post saying"Need LLMD recommendations in such and such area"

You can also email "Girlie" or me and we can check our lists for your area.

Its smart to be careful and I would also keep a journal of the symptoms and there severity to refer to.

Take care, jo
