Just wondering how many get head pressure and it increases with Mepron?

This is my second go-round on Mepron...and only taking it M/W/F for now...but am on cycle 2, week 2 (each cycle has two weeks taking Mepron with a week or two off between cycles) and my head pressure is bad...only a couple hours after taking it.

I'm wondering how much is a side effect.

I happened to be listening to that, while browsing the posts. smile Most of what I listen to is from the 1920s thru the 1950s.

Thanks, Babs.

I don't remember it happening this soon when I was on Mepron before...but I am doing double the dose on the M/W/F, so maybe that's why it's hitting me so hard this time...

The nature of my herxes changes with every round. I used to be on Mepron for weeks, now I can hardly tolerate a single Malarone. I’m going crazy with anxiety and heart palps. Herx or Bart coming out? Don’t know.

Do you feel better after going through rounds of Mepron? Just want to be sure you’re benefiting from the hell Mepron puts you through!
Symptoms began Aug 2017.
Dx with Lyme 10/13/17. Rx with Doxy/Zith/Tindamax x 2-3 months (80% improvement)
Dx with Babesia Duncani 1/2018. Rx with Mepron/Zith/Doxy x 1 month
2 week break due to worst herx/experience of my life
Coartem/Zith/Doxy 2/2018-3/2018 (60% improvement)
Coartem/Zith/Mino beginning 3/30/18

Not sure if you’re asking me or BabsBunny

For me - I’ve only been taking it for two cycles so not sure.
I’ve got two weeks off now so maybe I’ll feel an improvement near the end of the time off.
Problem is the long half life - it’s the gift that keeps on giving... skull

After the first few rounds, when taking with Zithromax, I herxed but definitely felt better. Now I’m takin it with Biaxin. The heart palpitations and anxiety are holding me back from taking more than a minimal dose every other day. I hate it. I don’t know if it’s Biaxin or herxing or Bart coming out to play, but I’m super frustrated!

Can you get your MD to prescribe clonazepam/klonapin? I’ve taken it for years at a low dosage but increasing the dose has really helped address the horrible anxiety that comes with Babs. Just a thought.

I hope you feel an improvement! Don’t want to keep drinking that nasty poison unless it’s helping you win the war. I did find that Alka seltzer gold helped a bit with the head pressure.

Oh he’s trying to get me to take all sorts of pharmaceuticals for the anxiety- lorazepam, Xanax, lamictal, but it all freaks me out- had a very bad experience with antidepressants for 15 years so I’m desperately trying not to need them.

Been doing okay with GABA, NAC, and hemp oil, but I just hate walking on eggshells... around myself!

Well, the anti-depressants are usually SSRI or SNRI class and take weeks to load into your system and carry a long list of side effects. I tried lexapro for anxiety 5 years ago and it was a nightmare so I stuck with the klonapin. The Benzos like Klonapin work right away and then are out of your system with much less side effects. I use klonapin as it is longer acting than Xanax and other benzos. Only problem tends to be that MDs don’t like to give them out as much since they can be habit forming. They are completely different from the class of drugs that gave you a bad experience, so if you can work yourself up to it I’d say go for it. Quality of life improvement has been incredible for me, maybe it can be for you too!

Forgot to mention - with my first go-round with Mepron for babs (in 2017) I did get some improvements - with the head pressure and pulsatile tinnitus.

But, it did take a while.
