Anyone using Ceftin in a combination to treat Lyme?

What are you taking with the Ceftin?

I used it in the past with : Doxy and Flagyl.

In the summer doxy was replaced with Biaxin.

Summer sun + doxy = fast sunburn.
Had initial lyme symptoms late 80's, then again and with bullseye early 90's. Ended ABX for Lyme in 2015. Rebuilding / fine tuning / fixing muscles since then; member "10 Percenters Lyme Club". What an adventure this has been. Hashimotos adds to the enjoyment.

I took Ceftin with Biaxin.

Now I’m taking it with Bactrim and Mepron.

Ceftin also goes with minocycline.

I had good results with Ceftin plus Minocycline. Even though I read somewhere that they do interact. I think one supposedly reduces the effects of the other.

My last round of meds were Ceftin plus Minocycline. I stopped about 8 days ago and symptoms have stayed at bay so far. Actually felt pretty darn good over the weekend.

I took it with Biaxin (like Girlie) and I saw the most improvement while on that combo.
Very sick starting around 07/2016
Started treatment 03/2017
Bixain & Cefdinir - 3 months - plateaued
Then Biaxin & Minocycline - 3 months - did not improve
Tinidazole - 500MG 2x a day - 2 weeks
Now taking:
Mepron 5mL 2x a day
Zithromax
Nystatin
Cats Claw - 30 drops 2x a day
Gou Teng - 30 drops 2x a day
CSA - 40 drops 2x a day
Japanese Knotweed - 40 drops 2x a day

I was on Minocycline only for 30 days. Then 30 days of Ceftin plus Minocycline.

For me this represents months 8 and 9 of my total 9 months of treatment so far.

After my 7th month of treatment I took about 2 weeks off of all treatment to see what would happen. Twitching started coming back. I was a little fatigued so I decided to go ahead and start the Minocycline. Two weeks into the first round of Mino I was starting to turn the corner. By the end of the 30 days on Mino alone, I was feeling pretty good.

For month 8, I was supposed to start Ceftin and Plaquenil and stop Minocycline. I didn't want to stop Mino because it was so good for me, so I started the Ceftin and Plaquenil and kept the Minocycline going. about 8 days ago, I finished the round feeling pretty darn good. I am thinking better, better energy, and feel some vitality that has been gone the last couple years.

0 twitching the last 8 days. No cold hands. No tight hamstrings. Sleeping really well. Digestion has normalized. It's kind of crazy how you kind of get used to being miserable, and what an incredible breakthrough it feels like when you feel close to "normal".

Feeling pretty good and hoping I don't jinx it.

I think I give credit mostly to the Minocycline.

thats great news, glad to hear it.

what i would give to rid myself of twitching and cold hands/feet! I got a ways to go yet, but maybe i will see remarkable improvement on it too.

The improvements i would say i had have been mild. i have been tracking my symptoms and their progress in spreadsheet. a lot of my symptoms i would say i have had partial improvement. a couple have completely gone a way, but the neuro symptoms seem to be the ones lingering. like the twitching, pulsing, ears ringing, off balance, etc I am hoping that the Ceftin/Minocycline/Rifabutin provides a breakthrough of sorts.

Sounds like a good combo. I strongly believe that would do the trick for me if my symptoms came back.
