I miss reading! I mean all the other OCD symptoms drive me nuts as well, but the worst one is that I can't really read anymore because I start counting the words in fours and I lose track of what I'm reading. It was my favorite escape and now Lyme took that from me too.
Anyone ever have this symptom get better with treatment?

I do audiobooks but really I'd rather just read!

I do get OCD, but it has gotten better. I believe kudzu root is what has helped mine.

It should go away with all other symptoms - when treated effectively..

I hope so...as I still have some brain stuff going on.

I have been in remission for a little over 4 years and some of the ocd is still here, but it isn't as strong. Things just take time. They tell teachers that for every week a student is not in school it takes 3 weeks to catch them back up. So you have to think about how long we have been dealing with these symptoms and give ourselves time to heal. Our bodies have fought a war not just one battle so we must give them time to readjust. For instance it took my hair 3 years to feel healthy again and to get my vitamin levels at normal. I still have some small issues with memory and other post Lyme complications. But every year I see a little more improvement. The key is to not stress yourself out. I've noticed the more I'm stressed the more ocd I become. On the plus side the more stressful work becomes the better my desk and the filing cabinet look. LOL

Do you take any meds for OCD? Or have you? Did they help? My main issue is uncharacteristic thoughts. Things have gotten better. If I could just get that underwrps i would be in good shape. I think my intrusive thoughts are from imflamation. I do feel like the inflammation has gotten better and the thoughts have gotten better. But it is very uncomfortable.
