For over a week now, I've been worse and really don't have a clear indication as to why.

The following symptoms have plagued me over the past week(s):

- Increased weakness that can come on suddenly
- increased stiff neck and headaches 4 days in a row
- irritability, anger, rage, wanting to die
- increased foot soreness/weakness in ankles/trouble walking
- increased numbness in hands/arms/feet/legs/nose
- bloating and gas
- swelling in my face and body in the morning right after I get up and start moving around
- tiredness
- forehead feels warm like I have a little fever
- increased pain and stiffness all over
- increased chemical sensitivities
POST EDIT ADDITION: - trouble sleeping/insomnia

I don't know if this is a general herx, a bartonella flare, or something else altogether.

Part of me wonders if my feeble attempts at treating bartonella are just making bart madder and now he's trying to kill me? Is it even possible to beat bart without becoming roadkill in the process?

I feel like when I first started treating and had a little improvement, bart was like a little kitten swatting and hissing at me. I kept treating, and now Bart's coming out meaner and more wiley like an old alley cat, and he's striking faster and harder. What in the world am I going to do when faced with the inevitable mountain lion that surely must be coming?

I wish I had answers WalkingByFaith. I've been doing a whole lot of stirring up Bartonella over here too and I'm rather wishing I could roll back to a few months ago when I thought I had all this under control :I

Hoping this is as bad as the cat gets for you and that you turn a corner soon. Please let us know how things are going for you through the week.

Thanks, Donjr! I'll try that. I just finished a jar of Bubbies pickles and saved the juice.

WBF - I don’t have any answers - sorry!

I, too am concerned about Bart - as I had done extensive treatment end of 2015 for over a year.
Then I selftreated Babs for 7-8 months..

Now I’m treating at the J clinic and they like to beat Babs down first - so of course I’m concerned about Bart symptoms returning since it’s now been two years since treating Bart.

I hope it turns around for you soon!

What helped me the most was going to a naturopath that uses electrodermal screening (otherwise known as bioresonance). It cost me only the price of a regular consultation. I was sceptical the first time I tried it I was looking for confirmation of lyme and it was there but no co-infections. So I tried another naturopath with a different machine and this time I didn't mention lyme. The results were pretty much with same. Both telling me liverflukes were my primary infection, 2 varieties of lyme, no coinfections and candida. They even came up with allergies I wasn't aware of. I spend a lot of time in bed and I was having an allergy reaction to the down in my quilt - no wonder I feel better in summer.
It took the guessing out of it and helped me tremendously in understanding what I needed to focus on and I improved a lot after that. That was a few years ago and I still go back when I can't figure out the next step. My decline at the end of last year was with another parasite infection and I thought I was on a pretty effective parasite maintenance protocol. It really has helped me - maybe that might work for you.
What the machine does is give your a list of what is making the most detrimental effects on your body - in order so you know what is important. They can tell you your allergies and toxins stresses.

Do they ask you a bunch of questions beforehand, or do they just let the machine do the work? How did you go about finding someone with the machine?

Oh walkingbyfaith, I can sympathize so very well with you!!! I too continue to be a mess! Today has been so bad! I wish I had the magic answer but all I can do is send you hugs and know you are not alone! I feel I'm getting closer to the mountain lion...I can't handle it! I used to think I was so strong and now I just feel like I'm hanging on by a thread! Nothing about this disease makes sense to me! How I wish I had a straight forward bone break or something where there was a time line to recover and not this unknown of when or if I'll ever be well again!

I am in Australia - I did an internet search and ended up looking up the Natural Therapy pages on-line for Electrodermal Screening or Bioresonance. It is best to go to a Naturopath they are more professional and they know how to use their machine and what to look for to help people with auto-immune diseases. I went to one lady who was a registered nurse but it didn't go well she didn't understand the machine well enough, she told me I had no parasite issues or lyme and couldn't really find out why I felt so lousy.
The guy I am going to now was perfect - he didnt want much of a life story and didn't take over trying to sell me his products. I just told him I have someone I am seeing about my lyme but I was feeling worse than usual and I was hoping the bioresonance machine could pin point the issue. It was just the test (you hold the brass rods in each hand and the machine does everything else). It came up with about 30 issues. He read the main ones out for me. I will ask him next time to print it up because he wasn't lyme literate so it might have been more helpful if I could have looked through the list myself.
I am self treating so for me bioresonance has really helped
