Found out I would have to stop all antimicrobials, which would include most of my herbs, including knotweed, for 2 weeks to do the SIBO test I wanted.

Has anyone else stopped all treatment for 2 weeks while still very symptomatic? What happened as a result?

I stopped treatment for 2 1/2 months approximately - when my liver enzymes climbed.

Not much happened really...maybe a few symptoms got worse again...nothing stands out so I'm thinking it wasn't too bad.

In fact I went to a concert (traveled) with a friend after about 5 weeks after stopping and I was doing okay.

Then I went on to bart treatment.

I had a bad bout of food poisoning in October and I had to take a break from everything for three days, and I took a full week after that off most of the strong antimicrobials but not the core protocol while I recovered.

At the time I felt like it set me back, but now I've had more ups and downs I think it might just be that I'd had a couple of good weeks just beforehand.

Perhaps the break will give you a good chance to rest and re-assess treatment since I know you've been going through a difficult time recently. Are there more supportive herbs that you can focus on during the break? Can you keep the immune-modulating ones and the adaptogens?
